Anybody see this morning's "Prickly City"?
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 09:51 AM by Hobarticus
I've yet to see 'Doonesbury' or any similar strip talk trash like this. Not only is this the first I've heard of global warming being 'a natural cycle' of the planet (which is a horseshit right-wing propaganda nugget to sneak into your kids' comics), but now blue states should be under a glacier. Ha-ha! Lotsa laffs!

1. Is that the actual comic?
The morAn who wrote it doesn't even know his punctuation.

Second panel: "most of the blue state's" (There's no apostrophe in "states" when used that way: it's not supposed to be possessive in that sentence.)

You'd think newspapers would have standards as to what goes in...considering that this comic had to get by an editor or two before publication, it just goes to show you they're complete idiots.

2. This is the real deal...
This strip goes about a week before he tosses some rabid nugget into his strip, and it's supposed to be funny. It stinks even when he's not being a right-wing asshole.

It's bad enough when they're partisan, lying hacks.
It's worse when they can't even grasp the basic rules of punctuation!!!

Considering that this fucking moron thinks the death of over half the country would be a good thing...I better not complete that line of thought.

On edit: it appears I was wrong: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=4285670&mesg_id=4285756

3. to be fair, I think it's a comma from the line above BUT
I read this comic a few times on the MSN page and stopped rather quickly as it often had little jabs thrown our way, which isn't exactly what I want to read while I'm drinking my coffee (or ever, really). I'll stick to Doonesbury.

You know, I think you're right.
On edit: I've seen that mistake so often by some of these people that I practically expect it.
My mistake.
