Hey Bev Harris-How come no posts ?
According to my perusals of GD, the last post I've seen for Bev was on 9/26. Was just wondering, has anybody else noticed this, or have I missed some postings? Miss ya, Bev !!

5. thanks, Greyl
I was looking for postings from Bev Harris, not bbv, simply because she had, at an earlier time on du, asked that people keep an eye out. She had said, if I recall correctly, that if she did not post everyday on the boards, that something might be wrong. And that it should be checked into. I did enjoy reading the bbv thread, though! thanks :)

is unshakable..is there a lawyer in the house?

Very little is more important than knowing our vote is truely being counted correctly. Bev is a treasure.

9. No worries,
She is fine, had to take a day or two to recharge, and then concentrate on shift she outlined in her Buzzflash interview.

10. Bev was on Seattle Radio show this morning
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 02:29 PM by RedEagle
The show contacted me and I managed to get hold of her. She sounded very, very tired. (But, a trooper, sounded fine on the air)

The show's host, Dave Ross, wanted an update on the BBV.org files being taken and what was going on there.

Pretty much agreed that BBV should have been allowed to take the link out, although it sounded questionable that the link was illegal.

All in all, the debacle of Diebold trying to shut the site down got a very good airing on this popular show.

And David, thanks for your efforts. This guy works behind the scenes, don't ja know. (David, of Plan Nine! Just realized show's host is also a Dave....)

11. Thanks, it's been a very long year
But I wouldn't trade any of it.

As I said earlier, the cracks are widening. If someone so much as sneezes near a Diebold machine in California, law suits will fly.

13. David, here goes another question (sigh)
Does anyone even have to be near the machines in order to wield that ole "black magic"?

Am not liking what Im hearing about the wireless stuff these days....

I know the sneeze comment was just a cute expression, but us Californians are thinking a little literal these days....

'you understand' :)

14. About that black magic....
It's not so much what is possible now, but what will be readily available in a short while.

Very few Diebold customers, for example, now have wireless adapters installed, but Diebold has the habit of trying to sell upgrades and new services and support contracts as a means of keeping the revenue stream going.

Wireless, I think, is the worst scenario, simply because wireless encryption (across the broadest spectrum of its use) is simply terrible right now. To the election official, it would solve many problems related to electronic voting machines (how many stories have hit the news recently about the unavailability of phone lines at some precinct locations?). To the rest of us, it's very worrisome.

Cheers.

12. well, good, glad to hear
things are ok. It has been a long year, though, probably for everybody. Glad that there wasn't a problem of some kind.
