Got a call from my local CBS Affiliate RE: Cindy Sheehan
Edited on Mon Aug-08-05 03:45 PM by Not_Giving_Up
"I got your e-mail and wanted to ask: How do you know Cindy Sheehan?"

I explained that I don't personally know Cindy Sheehan, but I wanted make sure that the story gets covered. He told me that they are aware of the situation, and that he just wanted to know what my connection was.

Houston DUers, watch Channel 11 tonight, maybe they'll cover it. He wouldn't say either way if they would or not.

Edited for typo

2. Wonder if they are trying to get info on anyone doing publicity for Cindy
Especially anyone in Texas. Would guess there are some henchmen under orders to cut off any support and PR being done on her behalf.

Any other Texans out there getting this question?

3. probably more likely
that it is a better story with a local connection. This is the local news, after all, if there's a local person who knows her, they'll be more likely to cover it.

4. I think that's what he was after
He said that as far as he could tell she wasn't from Texas at all.

Our NBC station prides itself with "Local News Comes First" as a slogan. That translates into "Hardly any news beyond Houston is talked about". No response from them yet.

You would think that no matter where this woman is from, there are people here who can identify with her. Sounds like a story to me!

7. I don't know how you can spin this
She just wants answers. That's all. Why is that so hard?

8. What I meant was RW spin,
There may be orders from higher ups not to air anything about her that would give her attention, so they may be looking for other ways of showing it - just to get it on the news...like a human interest story instead of a political story, therefore, they may be able to get it past the higher ups that give orders on what can or cannot be shown...Just a thought...
