They cannot even stand on the easement next to the public road ? If they are forced to stand in a drainage ditch, that makes Bush and his thugs about as humane as Pol Pot.

The West Nile virus has again been found in McLennan County, officials said Tuesday.

When this water stagnates, it means mosquitos are going to start gathering.
I hope they have some DEET.

2. love ya to death but
the Pol Pot analogy is a little off. I agree it is ridiculously inhumane. I feel about Pol Pot comparisons the way some feel about Hitler. I think he was far far worse.

5. Although she shouldn't have to stand in any ditch, I think your
picture of a drainage ditch is not the same as where Cindy is. I never lived in Crawford (Thank GOD!) but I did live in San Antonio. This is August in Texas folks!!! Even after a rain, nothings wet for more than 15 minutes! Believe me, the worst part of her stay there is the hot baking sun and unbearable heat and humiidity she has to endure!

6. drainage ditches in San Antonio and drainage ditches in
Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 06:32 PM by Horse with no Name
Crawford are very different.
The ones in SA are usually concrete.
The ones in rural Central Texas are muddy with tall grass, weeds, fire ants, rats and snakes. Some of the weeds (I don't know what they are called) look like purple flowers but burn like hell when the thorns get on you.
The water stagnates in them until it dries up.

8. It's been raining quite a bit lately.
I'm guessing that there is mud from last night's rain. These are unimproved road sides too.
