I hate to say this - but....
I WANNA GO TO CRAWFORD TEXAS!!!!

Normally one would not really consider Crawford a top tourist destination. By all appearances, it looks to be a sleepy small Texas community - just like dozens if not hundreds of other towns across America. And I vowed to myself not to travel down to the US while Bush is in power. No offence - but it is my small way of keeping my sanity.

We have all watched Cindy Sheehan and her story with intense interest. Such a simple thing - go to Crawford to talk to George, face to face. And yet this woman has gained the admiration of a nation gripped with war casualties and deaths. She is one voice, but many stand silently behind her, willing her wishes to happen.

This has nothing to do with partisanship, but she wants Bush to face the realities of his policy. She has more relevance and credibility than the Bush administration ever could - this single californian grieving mother. One woman's voice over the most powerful administration in the planet. That is what I love. It is that she is so utterly powerless to Bush. She knows this and so does he. If I didn't know any better, I get the feeling that she is the underdog - and America LOVES to back the underdog. If I didn't know any better - I'd say she was teaching us all the meaning of being an American.

And so I want to be there. I want to be a part of something bigger than myself. I want to see Truth speaking to power. I cannot alas. But I can follow the story from here and cheer you all on. Any one who can go - please do so. My prayers are with you all.

GET YOUR BUTTS TO CRAWFORD. please. (canucks are so polite!)

5. If she continues to stay, I may drive out there from CA for a few days
sometime next week. I'll have to make some changes, but if * doesn't see her... and he won't because he's the Coward from Crawford... I hope to be there.

6. Load your car with provisions if you do go
Why contribute to the economy there? I don't think there are too many "buy Blue" joints in town...

8. Well, at least the Iconclast is with us. And the local libs have probably
been "warned" by the Secret Service that they might constitute a threat to the country if they raise their lowly eyes to the "Prez" when he comes by.
Okay, hyperbole maybe, but pity the poor Texan living anywhere near Bushit who harbors a shred of decency within his breast. He's living in Hell!
Which is where * and his minions will end up. If there is justice in the universe.

9. Getting ready to make my plans! As you so eloquently put it,
"she is teaching us all (including Americans) the meaning of being an American" and this is why I'm going... along with this "I want to see truth speaking to power"... and from my own mind and heart, I want to share this burden with them. It feels almost spiritual in a sense.
That is all on how I can describe it...

Thanks for your words!
