Did the leak lead to any deaths? |
|
In all the furor over the leaking of Ambassador Wilson's wife as a CIA operative, I have heard nothing about any ripple effect. Does anybody know if there are reports or rumors of people disappearing or dying? Once she was outed as an agent, anybody who met with her would immediately be suspected of being a spy or double agent and would be jeopardy. She herself was probably not in any physical danger, but what about others? It is hard to keep track of all the needless deaths that Bushco is responsible for, but this is outright treason and unlike Enron will be difficult to sweep under the rug.

1. I wonder about that too. |
|
I'll bet the CIA knows. Maybe they'll disclose the info.

2. Outing her has greatly decreased the chances & raised the cost of |
|
gathering information from informants for every CIA operative. Now it's known that Rowe sacrifices CIA operatives for political vengeance, AND GETS BY WITH IT,all individuals/sources for all CIA operatives are in a lot more danger and will either NOT work with the CIA or demand a hell of a lot more money to compensate for the danger.

7. That is nearly as bad as any deaths that result |
|
This has set back the US intelligence communities efforts for a long time. If it's known that the politicals at the top will expose any undercover operatives for electoral gain, nobody in their right mind would risk themselves to talk to a US intelligence agent. Their US contacts (and thus, themselves) might get exposed on a whim from the White House.
Talk about crapping where you eat! Whatta mess.

3. It's a big deal, apparently |
|
I read that she and her children are in hiding and that there have been at least 70 deaths as a result.
Also, the network she had in place after many years (decades?) of work has to be in shambles. She was tracking WMDs -- their movement, so there's a significant part of OUR national security and defense that has been rent asunder.
Pretty BFD (Big F'ing Deal), IMO.

4. The 70 deaths figure comes from Al Martin |
|
with no sources cited.
Not that I doubt that awful things may have occurred as a result, but I want accurate information.

5. Where did you hear about these 70 deaths? |
|
I have heard nothing about this? If people died because someone in the White House opened their pie hole, this should be major news and the person should be tried for treason (or whatever law is applicable.)
If she was working on tracking WMD and she had a large network of agents who were compromised as a result of this leak, then the death toll resulting from this could be astronomical.
