3. Rove has a history of leaking stories to Novak
Sources close to the former president say Rove was fired from the 1992 Bush presidential campaign after he planted a negative story with columnist Robert Novak about dissatisfaction with campaign fundraising chief and Bush loyalist Robert Mosbacher Jr. It was smoked out, and he was summarily ousted.

9. I read through the statute. It's very confusing, trying to read it online.
However, I get the impression that certain people are immune from prosecution under it, including the president, SC justices, members of congress, and you can't be prosecuted as an accomplice, or a co-conspirator.

I'm sure the WH knows this and has covered their tracks.

So -- and I could have this TOTALLY wrong -- I get the impression that if Rove condoned it, but didn't do it, he can't be prosecuted. And if Bush actually made the calls, he can't be prosecuted.

I had a hard time finding the applicable statute of limitation for the offense. However, I bet it's 10 years.
