US Ambassador implies it is not a crime to kill Hugo Chavez?!...
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 11:25 AM by GoreN4
...Does this fit into Bush's strategy of "spreading liberty and peace" to other lands? Allande in 73', Honduras in the mid-80s, Noreiga in 89', and perhaps Chavez in 03'? It seems that no Republican administration is worth it's salt unless it succesfully overthrows at least 1 latin American country during its term...especially those pesky Democratically elected gov'ts.

'Arrogant US Ambassador to Venezuela Charles S. Shapiro says its not a crime to kill a President...'

http://www.vheadline.com/readnews.asp?id=11205

In an Associated Press (AP) dispatch the United States government has said it will open up an investigation into allegations made by Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez Frias relative to conspiracy to assassinate him. Chavez Frias has said that "terrorist groups" in southern Florida have allied with Miami-based anti-Castro radicals.

Amazingly US Ambassador to Venezuela, Charles S. Shapiro says "it is not necessarily a crime ... but we are in the full process of collecting information and we must follow all legal procedures ... if there is anyone to blame, our government knows what to do!"

With typical Washington cover-up rhetoric, Shapiro shakily admits that he has received information that "some Venezuelans have been receiving military training in the United States." He further admits that the information was also published in a Miami newspaper a year ago ... but remains remarkably silent as to why no action was taken by proper authorities Stateside. "We're not going to take action against anybody ... we haven't been able to make any headway!"

2. Oh, for f*ck's sake!
The Cuban group that's been training these paramilitary terrorists has an openly available website:
http://www.comandosf4.org/newspaper/2003-01-29.htm

They have their address, phone number, and contact personnel listed too.
(along with plenty of photos of them training with illegal weapons in the swamps of Florida).

What more do they need?
(I ask somewhat sarcastically, since I know they have no intention of arresting these terrorists).

5. We are training terrorists in Florida?
If this is true, and the administration assisted in any way, shape, or form, they should be tried as terrorists and treated just the same as anyone else who aids terrorists.

6. LOL,
the Cubans have trained "freedom fighters" in South Florida for years. I wouldn't be suprised to find out they still are, although I haven't heard much about it lately.

9. It's been going on for YEARS. Hell the Bushes play with Bosch.
Orlando that is. The Miami "Patriot" that arranged to blow up a plane with 76 people on it in 1977.

We harbor, train, finance, terrorists in Florida, period.

12. We've been training terrorists for YEARS in the School of the Americas
At least, that's what it was called when it was based in Panama. Now it's in Ft. Benning and was re-named in order to reduce the stigma associated with the old name (called the "School of Assasins by many in Latin America).

This wonderful institution cranked out leaders like the death squads of El Salvador in the 1980's and Manuel Noriega (before he got too greedy). Now it's turning out leaders of RW paramilitaries in Colombia. In fact, when it was forced to make its publications public, it was found that it actually taught its students how to kill labor activists and organizers!
