for the DO Not Call List ...He sent this to me this morning.

I just got a phone call from MCI -- I've been getting MORE calls at ALL hours since I signed up on the DO NOT CALL LIST!!!!! I think they're using the list to get in their "last licks" while they're trying to kill the law....
I'm going to write an email to Feinstein, Boxer and Lee about it. Maybe you could start a thread on DU getting others to do the same if the same thing's been happening to them. (I don't have the time today).

I did not sign up for the list for this very reason .
So are other people getting more calls ? and if so
let's inform our policy makers about it .

it's best to not be on any list for any reason, imho

Many telemarketers have stepped up their efforts recently in advance of the Oct. 1 deadline. They are trying to get in as many calls as they can prior to that. So it's a last dish effort to beat the deadline and scam as many people as they can prior. If the calls continue after Oct 1, then start contacting people.

I think that everyone is getting more calls right now. The telemarketers know that their days are numbered, and are trying to get as many last minute sales as they possibly can.

I have gotten exactly ONE call since then, which I reported to the state PSC office. Two months later, I got a letter from the PSC saying they had fined the telemarketer who called me $2,000.
Sweet. It can work.
