according to this http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/09/29/sprj.irq.main/index.htmla 200-member police force assisted a night raid in tikrit. why are these iraqis so willing to assist the US? they are shooting and killing their own. it doesn't make sense to me.

1. There were Vietnamese on the French/US side |
|
And it's not like Saddam had trouble finding Iraqis willing to kill thier own. You can always find someone. You just have to feed, pay, arm, ect him well enough.

You make it sound as if it's obvious that no Iraqi could do any wrong, or that anyone the US goes after must be innocent. Do you question the police in your country about going after 'their own'?

it seems like attack helicopters and fighter jets fired into the area. okay, so there are saddam loyalists who are targeted, but at the same time i am sure innocent civilians are getting hurt or killed.

6. OK, it would be better to link a story |
|
that talks about the helicopters and jets, rather than one that calls it a raid by military police. The CNN story didn't mention any casualties on either side.

1. Don't assume that the U.S. has absolutely no support in Iraq. There are clearly a large number of people who are glad to see Hussein gone.
2. They could be Chalabi's men.

5. Why because they were told to do it. |

The studies on this are endless and really opens ones eyes. You are just one of the few that has his own mind and if it is wrong you do not do it. Yale did a big study as I recall with the shocks given to people. You would love to read about these. Look them up.Ca did one on guards and prisoner that had to be stopped it got so bad.
