ONDCP ad on Air America
I despise the Office for National Drug Control Policy and it made me sick to my stomach to hear their "public service announcement" during the Ed Schultz show today.

Its propaganda has done more to promote the continued stupidity of this drug war and the assumptions many people make regarding drug use and abuse and the difference between the two than just about anything that's ever hit the air.

I just had to shoot out a short rant about it before my head exploded.

1. That one that says something like "keep an eye on your kid, it always
works"? I always think, yea it always works at alienating your child so they don't listen to anything you say.

2. It does seem to make
the kids better at deception and misdirection...or so I observed with most of my friends.

3. My parents actually believed that pot changed your chromosomes.
Now how dumb ass can you get to believe that and tell your kid that? And they were not uneducated folks. Of course it merely caused me to have to check it out.

6. Heck, the government said it, didn't it?
And people wonder why the DARE program has been proven not to work...if you lie to the kids in a way they can prove you wrong, what possibly reason would they believe you about anything else?

5. Some of the most out of control
kids I knew had parents that were ALWAYS sniffing around.

On the other hand, I had to learn to set my own limits because my Dad sure as hell wasn't doing it. LOL

I think that is why.

7. You can consider this a type of bribery
Edited on Wed Aug-10-05 05:10 PM by firefox
You can bet it influences the discussion on the corruption that brings us the War on Drugs. All media must be silenced concerning the fraud in government policy, because any real conversation will destroy the drug war and show that the real criminals are in the highest offices of government.

10. Schultz isn't on Air America.....
probably one of his 'national' ads (remember, he takes Wal-Mart/Sam's Club commericals also)

11. I thought about that after I posted...
I wasn't sure if it was one of his commercials or the local AAR affiliate's.

Either way it pissed me off.
