Clinton to Blitzer : "You're trying to get me to make news.... |
|
I'm trying to educate people."
Blitzer: "That's my job, I'm a newsman, it's my job to make news."
====
Um, no, it's your job to REPORT news. Any wonder the media is so poorly regarded?

39. Al Gore invented the internet slander |
|
began with Wolf Blitzer's interview of him in 1998. Al clearly stated and Wolf knew that Al was talking about his legislative accomplishments while in Congress, and yet two or three days after the fact when the corpwhorate owned media started spewing Dick Armey's talking points, did Wolf try to correct the slander? Hell no!! He was as silent as the German population was in the 1930s. As far as I am concerned he has more blood on his hands than the worst neocon, because he is a "newsman":sarcasm: and newsmen or newswomen are supposed to be looking out for the American People. They are supposed to discern the truth for the people not parrot, slander or obfuscate it. He and his like enabled the corrupt incompetent ones to power in the first place. Without them President Gore would be in the White House where he belongs, possibly no 9/11, definitely no premeditated war based on lies with Iraq, we would be actually dealing with global warming, no tax cuts for the mega rich exploding our deficit turning the dollar into Monopoly Money, our own leaders would not be outing our own CIA agents, we would have an open government were the time of day is not a state secret, we would not sold our children and their children's future out to the corporate hogs that are raping the environment, we would be living much closer to Thomas Jefferson's vision that "all men are created equal" etc. etc.

41. blitzer's brand of 'up/down, in/out, back/forth... |
|
right/wrong, salt/pepper journalism' has imo caused what we are looking @ nationwide; not, perhaps, he alone; but there's little doubt he has been key to that now-end-result: the scatter & loss of our free press where there are no pertinent questions asked but for 'when will the smack-down be airing' that plays like a raggedy old junkyard dog tearing at his favorite oily old rag. that is not journalism imo. that is the tabloidization of americana. the entire gist of that you can derive while in the checkout line @ safeway.
i've never understood the excess civility, save that for after the election; the other side does not show up to play they show up to WIN! "swift boat crap" "gore invented the internet" "mccain has a black baby" from wherever whatever the hell they are come, rapid response cannot be underrated. blitzer is to my mind an enabler enabling the other side to lie through their teeth & slap your grandma down because that is clearly what they are prepared to do to prevail.
until FAUXnews had risen like too much yeast, i thought cnn to be our only contemporaneous example of a simple abomination.

WTF? Any reporter's job is to *FIND* the news and to *REPORT* the news. Making the news should be left to the... um... "newsmakers".

He doesn't even know what his job is. I expected that from a "newsmodel"... all his job is is to READ what's on the paper or teleprompter, including the interview questions. That's why they have producers and editors and a news room. Blitzer wouldn't know news if it slapped him in the face.

He said the UN inspections should have gone forward and that invading Iraq had nothing to do with the war on terror or Al Qaeda. Where I differ with him is the need to stay there.

27. But what's wrong with answering the question in a very straightforward way |

where no one can mistake the intent of the answer?
And isn't it SAD that it is "news" if a prominent Democrat actually comes out and says "It was a mistake to go to Iraq!"????

"Concerning Mr. Blitzer's comment to President Clinton, that "That's my job, I'm a newsman, it's my job to make news."
No, my dear Mr. Blitzer, you are a REPORTER, and your job is to REPORT the news. You can ask questions to try to get people's opinions, but your job is not to 'make' news. And considering that there are so many big stories to report on at this time, you really should have no need to 'make' news! For example, you could cover...
"Why the MSM is not interested in the Vanity Fair article that purports that our Speaker of the House may have accepted illegal campaign contributions from Turkey?"
I hope you find some news soon, so that you won't have to work so hard on making it.
Sincerely, xxxx"

if it was wrong to go into iraq...didn't he have ample opportunity to ask bush when they were all sucking the hind neocon tit & tripping over each other to get an 'embedded pass' on a troop transport?
now is not the fucking time, the time was fucking then to be asking these fruit-loop fucking questions fuck cnn they are part of the problem they are not designed to be part of the solution & neither are the people that work there.
to hell with these dweebs we need our free press & we need it NOW!
