Perseid meteor shower tonight:
Best viewing in North America is to the northeast within the general vicinity of the constellation Perseus directly below Cassiopeia in the northern skies. Best viewing times are a between the hours of 11:20 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Friday morning with additional activity the following Saturday morning during the same pre-dawn hours. Meteor rates will range between 70-80 per hour, with a 1.2 hour peak at 4:18 a.m. EST both mornings where activity will increase to approximately 200-240 per hour.

ENJOY!

3. Great HF meteor scatter propagation tonight if you are a ham or swl
If you have a directional antenna point it toward the north pole and put on the headphones.

7. 10, 11(?), 12, 15, 17, meters are about the best
Kind of hard to receive the stuff sometimes. The voices of the other operators may be very raspy sounding, and the contact may only last a few seconds. Just long enough to exchange calls sometimes. It kind of "seems" like all the signals from all over the world congregate above the north pole or something? Its kind of strange.
