George W. Bush said rising gasoline prices would hurt the economy |
|
yet yesterday he said the economy was stronger than it was in the 80s and 90s.
So, why don't we add a 3 dollar per gallon tax to gasoline like Bush claimed John Kerry suggested.

2. Unemployment is at 5%. Are you calling the Emporer a liar? |
|
Such is the point of this thread.
Perhaps if I took a more direct mopaul™ approach

the number of people who don't qualify for unemployment anymore ? I often wonder what the actual numbers are now. My brother loses his unemployment this week, he was out today trying desparately trying to get a job so he can pay bills. I think he's going to have to move back home with my parents. :-(

6. *DING DING DING DING DING* WE HAVE A WINNER!!!! |
|
Bush's Admin not only killed off the organization that actually used to track these things on a much more specific level, but they redefined the term unemployed as to only those currently receiving unemployment. Anyone who is still without a job, and who has gone beyond the 13 weeks, is no longer considered unemployed.

4. The Freepers raised hell about Kerry raising gas prices 50 cents |
|
But they apparently love Bush's $1.50/gallon surcharge to make his buddies filthier and richer.

8. Which also makes Bush wrong *if he isn't lying* about rising gas |
|
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 06:22 PM by DS1
prices hurting the economy, or the economy *if he isn't lying* strong enough to shrug off a net double in gasoline prices during his 4.5 years.
