1. They're from her husbands side of the family. Not directly related to her.
In-laws.

3. Heard Cindy on
Keith Olberman earlier and she said it was her inlaws. They voted for Bushco in '04 and she felt it was a betrayal to her son and they don't speak. Her husband backs her fully.

4. Cindy says it's her husband's family
She admitted they are on different sides of the political fence and she hasn't talked to them since all of this started. She made it clear her immediate family - her husband, other children and sister - are 100% behind her.

5. She has relatives who disagree with her
but she has not spoken to them since they voted for * in November, after she asked them not to.

I really don't get why this is such a big deal. Lots of us have misguided freeper relatives. Does that make our opinion and our activism any less valuable?

7. From TruthOut
snip--
I spoke to Cindy about the "so-called" family who attacked her today. This godmother, according to Cindy, did not know Casey at all. They saw each other maybe once a year. As for the other family members, they have always been at political loggerheads, so their response is no big shock.

Cindy treated it with a shrug. Her husband will send out a more detailed response soon. In the meantime, Cindy says the letter is to be treated as little more than bad, dumb noise.

8. The "godmother" is not even a close friend to Cindy now.
Edited on Thu Aug-11-05 08:49 PM by Maddy McCall
The "godmother" is related to Cindy's husband's relatives, from which BOTH Cindy and her husband are estranged. These estranged in-laws are blind Bushbots, according to Cindy.

Sounds like someone jealous that Cindy's getting attention, if you ask me.

9. No biggie
From Will Pitt, TruthOut:

The vigil goes on.

Somebody else added there were political divides as in any family, but the real bad blood came when some voted for Bush** last year despite Casey's death. Cindy has not spoken to them since. I don't blame her a bit.

10. If Casey's "numerous cousins" support **'s war they should support it
by signing a recruitment form rather than some letter sent to Splat Sludge.

16. why do you want it to be a hoax?
I don't. I never even wondered how Casey's god mother or aunt feels about this war or how this administration is handling it. I certainly don't speak for my whole distant family or even my close family, politically.

Reports say, that Cindy's husband will release a letter. I would like to read what he has to say, but it won't change the fact that I respect Cindy and what she's doing. I just don't see how this is really relavent. Seems like a stretch.
