9. Nice to meet you too, Babe... 19%. Dean second with...
14%. Tom Milsac (sp), Gov of Iowa was on being interviewed. Even while Judy announced this poll, Milsac was going on about how Clark is not likely to do well in Iowa. Get over yourself, Tom.

Clark's in 5th in Iowa. At this point, if he can finish 4th I'll be happy.

19. My point is, who cares? Iowa isn't the be all and end all
as Milsac would have us to believe. He had such a pompous delivery. Obviously a Dean supporter. He was visibily upset.

11. I don't trust Gallup on state polls
Given that their recall poll yesterday was highly suspect, I would have to treat this poll in the same fashion. It would be inconsistent to believe one and not the other.

21. You did not refute my statement
I am stating that based on a previous poll, I find CNN/Gallup to be untrustworthy in state polls. If Field, PPI, or LA Times confirms this, I'll accept it. But I don't trust Gallup in state matters.

Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 03:44 PM by stickdog
And when was this newest poll taken?

Look at Pollkatz's charts:

Gallup Polls:

Pro-Bush
Pro-Arnie

and now

Pro-Clark

Notice any trends?

Until you produce that information, this poll serves only as a baseline.

22. The antidote to the Terminator...
I'm hoping that Clark doesn't top the ticket for pres, but I really thing this is good viz the recall. I think Clark is going to dismantle Arnold's fake persona when he comes to CA to campaign in Arnold's stronghold, Southern Cal, on October 1st.

I hope Clark is preparing for this the same way he prepared for combat. And I hope Arnold's preparing for it the same way he conducts his life...by groping a few assistants and swallowing steroids, or whatever.

23. Steroids are best delivered via injection, usually
with a shot in the butt -- which is where I hope Arnold gets kicked
:-)

28. oh is that all?
heck 19-14 Clark over Dean, no biggie. It is close enough and I remember where Dean was just a few months ago. It will be tight but
California is a state Dean can and will do well in. I still think some of this is due to the intense media bounce that Clark has gotten. It will get closer guarantee it. In the meanwhile congrats to the Clark people on the good start they are having.

29. C'mon CMT. Dean campaigns for a year, Clark for 2 wks...
and you don't think this is substantial? Face it. The big MO(mentum) seems to be shifting to Clark. It's too soon to declare Clark "the" frontrunner, but it's not looking good from Dean's point of view.

34. hey it is a good start

but the media attention is helping to a certain degree. It is early and Dean was at 1% in January. The General also has been known from television--he had a substantial base of support with his draft committee. It isn't looking good for Dean? it is looking better for Dean than any of the other candidates vs. Clark. He is pretty much holding his base and it will come down I think to Clark or Dean and Dean has a solid organization, committed supporters, and the money to compete head to head with Clark and the voters will decide. It is too early to say who California will vote for. I'm delighted that after the weeks of intense media attention that Dean is still within the moe in Califoria.
