NBC, CBS morning shows misreport numbers in Crawford.
Shock, surprise.

According to Will Pitt, the official count was 705, NOT INCLUDING MEDIA. How many did the NBC and CBS morning shows report? "Dozens."

1. To be fair, that 705 was a total for the day.
At any one time there were 80-150 people there.

3. 705 is the population of Crawford.
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 07:56 AM by Kire
I just saw that yesterday in some news article related to the Crawford Peace House.

"As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 705, 74 more than in the 1990 census."

6. Today show,
Good Morning America, all covered Cindy. The Today Show led off with the story in the tease. I'm just happy about that.

7. When they reported on the Terry Schiavo(sp?) they seldom
mentioned numbers of protestors. There were few but got alot of press.

10. but, but, but, it is so Simple!
Terri Schiavo was REAL NEWS and plus they had real purty pictures when she was young and blonde and thin and smiling and sexy.
I wonder if Terri ever traveled to Aruba.

Why would a middle class, middle aged, middle weight woman be news, regardless of the story? Who cares about 1900 dead US soldiers? Who cares about 100,000 dead Iraqis and 20,000 Iraqi orphans? Who cares about Haliburton stealing billions, Carlyle Group making billions at tax payer expense? Who cares about the destruction of American constitutional rights by our own Dept. of Justice? Who cares if we torture people who have not yet been accused of anything? Who cares if our soldiers receive orders from up high, to beat confessions out of Iraqis, and follow those orders so well, that people die from the beatings and torture? Who cares about the lies and deceit fed to the American people by the most criminal administration in the history of America?

The TeaPot Dome scandal was peanuts. Even Nixon's Watergate and coverup were peanuts.
This is the worst, most evil, most destructive, most vile administration ever put into office.

That helped. I feel better now, so long as I don't think about them too much.
