I saw a US Army convoy headed south...
on I-29 at 10:45 am near the Bellevue, NE exit. (About 12 hours north of Crawford). and I wondered if they were being dispatched to break up the vigil at Camp Casey. There were 20 to 30 vehicles in the convoy. Some jeeps and some larger vehicle possibly carrying soldiers. Is this normal troop movement or not? Has anyone else seen troop movements toward Texas?
I called and let Haidi know what I saw and to be on the alert. Just in case. Hope he got the word out.

2. The single LARGEST Army post in the US is in Texas.
A little place called Ft Hood.

3. Fort Hood is right next door to Crawford.
It's the largest military base on Earth.

I think you're over-reatcing.

5. Besides, would they really need a large convoy to break up that protest?

6. Nope...no military vehicles would be needed.
Just a paddywagon to haul everyone off and some cops.

4. Welcome to DU. A convoy would be a bit of overkill for breaking up
the peace vigil. The sheriff doesn't seem too concerned about what's going on and it's his jurisdiction so he should know.

If you are you should relize that offet airforce base is in bellevue. It is a rather large base and there are military vehicles coming in and out of there all the time. Definitely stop over reacting please.

8. Crap, I missed that part...
This convoy is in Nebraska, and the OP is alarmed that they may be heading to Texas?

9. They wouldn't send in the Army to break up Camp Casey.
A couple of cruise missles would work just fine, no need to send in troops.

13. go easy on yourself
with the kind of abuse this govt is capable of, it's natural to be a leetle paranoid

These army conveys run around between installations often. I doubt they think that Texas would need reinforcements to handle the peace demonstrators (though if they send anymore troops out to Iraq....)

the troops to get you. You will have to do like the rest of us. Dig a bunker, fake your own death, break off all contact with friends and relatives, steal the identity of a Republican neighbor, set up microwave ovens all around your bunker and run them all at all times you are there. It will block their attempts to read your emails and your brain waves. Tin foil no longer works, they've learned to read through it.

It's a good life. We all live off microwaved worms and hot water, and our hair falls out, but at least we are alive!

16. The 2 + 2 = 600 syndrome frequently develops following
Real Life Experiences. I have had flare-ups many times over the years. Incurable, apparently. Reading less and walking in woods is palliative treatment.

12. I'd be a lot more concerned they may use Union Busting Ploy #1 ;
Send in some agitators to start a ruckus, and bust it up with the Tac Squad.

I understand there are now hundreds of people there, some with their own agendas. A few well placed liquored up rednecks starting their Saturday Night free-for-all would suffice. I hope they take a lesson from "The Grapes Of Wrath" and expect to nip it in the bud.

15. Uh, no. It's a National Guard training weekend.
That happens pretty much every other weekend.

Not to mention that Offutt AFB is in Bellevue. They're doing training exercises around Omaha pretty much all the time.
