Whether he gets the nomination or not, DK brings up important topics that others wouldn't. As a result he facillates debate and makes others think. Dems are pretty lucky to have Dennis around.

I just used it to send Dennis a 57th birthday present.
Unfortunately, though, work obligations prevent me from attending this evening's meeting. :-(
By the way, after I gave my credit card information, the staffer asked a series of questions designed to figure out whether I was part of a PAC or was donating as a proxy for a corporation or special interest group. That's never happened before, and it says a lot about the campaign's ethical stance.

Not only is he full of guts and soul you know exactly where his message comes from and that leads to trust and I can't remember if I ever trusted anyone with anything precious to me like my rights and my life. His message is a good, solid, people message. I feel like a fan! Very strange for me.

i should send him some... :-) but the folks around him are already a wellspring of goodwill with or without my contribution.
That goodwill is magnetic, not verbal for me somehow... Its like all politicians i have ever come in to contact with do not represent me, my life or those of my parents... like america has become fake and along with it the politicians. Dennis is real, and i breathe a sigh of relief.

Instead I've been giving him $100+. It's more than I can afford but it's not being thrown away. I'm investing in the future of my country.
I can't give any more this month (I spent $102 at the webstore to turn my hubby into a mobile cross-country Kucinich ad!*LOL*), but he gets another $114,for his birthday donation, at the end of this week.
I'm giving until it hurts because I want him in the WH, period.

I also love Dennis, and nothing surprises me more. I'm 43 years old. While I've always done my civic duty and voted in general elections, I've never, in all that time, found one single candidate I particularly liked or trusted. It's always been a "hold the nose and vote for the lesser of two bad bargains" situation. And I've never belonged to a political party before. This will be my first primary outside of CA's experiment with open primaries. And I'm here for Dennis. He's the reason I bothered.
I'm no kind of groupie. I don't watch much tv or see many movies, and don't feel any special admiration for celebrityhood.
I'm just an unrepentant idealist. I respect honesty and I respect backing up words with action. I don't want to bother with little feel-good-but-don't-really-make-a-difference options. I want the real deal. So I'm here for the duration. And, on this last day of the quarter, I'm scraping together more quarters to send, even though I already tapped out the whole kitty this month on Dennis and on buying basic supplies for my classroom.
A vote for Dennis is a vote for hope.

It's amazing how many times people have patiently patronized my idealism. And one administrator more than a decade ago, who, after a 2 hour meeting shooting down every single constructive idea for solving a problem, stood up and sneered at me. Publicly. And said, "You're just an idealist. You idealists can't ever get anything real done." You bet I'm unrepentant.
What I've noticed over the years is that if I keep my sights on the ideal, I get further with the goal. I never actual reach the ideal. But that's not failure. I get further than I would have if I would have settled for not much and set my goals there.
The act of living and striving for an ideal moves us further along the path. The journey is just as important as the destination.
That's why I will be with Kucinich until the end of the race.

at the end of the race. I am so isolated here. Even with his web site and this one it is hard for me to judge where he stands. Something tells me he stands much better than the polls would have us know. I am trying desperately to start meet ups here in my town. We had two registered, I joined and recruited 3 more but I have not heard anything yet. I will do this if I have to do it with my 3 friends. We will be painted as lunatics in this community but none of us care. Frankly, a lunatic in this community is someone I would feel very at home with. HA! Lunatics for Dennis! I prefer idealists but you can't always paint the picture yourself.

I've found a candidate I can support without reservation. The thing is, and I think all of us here understand this, Dennis is one of the few, if not the only, really aware legislator we have in federal government. Dennis makes me proud of my government, even if he is the only voice in government that speaks the things and takes the actions that represent what I believe that my government is supposed to be. Dennis rocks, and it will be a long term national tragedy if he is not elected President in 2004. Dennis will work to take the steps that will allow the US to evolve into the nation we all want it to be. Peace.

25. I probably would have voted for Bobby Kennedy, had he lived. |
|
Most of my candidate campaigning has frankly been ANTI: I have been working for a semi-good candidate because the other candidate was so much WORSE!!
But DK is a candidate I can finally wholeheartedly support...a candidate who will bring out the best in Americans, and American foreign and domestic policy.
Do you ever think that you are living in a nightmare world, a world in which our cherished civil rights are not worth the paper they're written on...a nightmare world in which we have gone from the world's greatest democracy to the world's greatest bully??? And this is condoned even by Democrats?
Dennis offers the path out of the nightmare and tells us WE CAN DO IT!!THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSITIVE VISION AND PRACTICALITY FOR AMERICA, Dennis.

I'm Australian, and not since 1972 has there been a candidate I voted for with 100% enthusiasm (his name was Gough Whitlam), and in 1960 it was JFK who inspired my lifelong interest in politics, when I was a teenager. Dennis Kucinich is so honest it's almost heartbreaking, and I wish we had one like him here. I have a romantic dream that this candidate who is ignored by the media will get up and run because of the grassroots support of the people. I'll be cheering him on from the sidelines, and all of you people who support him. God bless all of you!

32. Kucinich's candidacy is the most important one of the bunch, IMHO |
|
And it's not at all because he'll get the nomination. He won't. No way, no how.
The effect that his candidacy can have goes much further beyond the short-term and transitory nature of electoral politics. What Dennis is doing is sowing seeds in the wind. He is attempting through his candidacy, whether he fully realizes it or not, to plant seeds in the conscience of society to start a paradigm change.
That's one of the reasons I think he evokes such staunch support from so many members of these boards -- and also why he evokes such an immediate write-off from those of us who are more "establishment" Democrats. The reason is that many of us recognize the absolute NEED to change our perspectives away from selfishness and militarism. Dennis reinforces that for us -- but he scares the hell out of someone who DOESN'T recognize this basic truth, because he directly challenges their preconceived notions of "the way things are supposed to be".
For that, and that alone, he deserves our support and appreciation. From Dennis's mouth to the ear of greater consciousness, I say. :D
Just like the REAL Elvis (Costello) said, "What's so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding?"

Gephardt would of course vote the way Kucinich votes, if he bothered to vote. Got the following in my mailbox.
John Sweeney is a master of understatement. When asked who had as good a record for labor as Gephardt, he replied "Dennis Kucinich." The Post failed to elaborate. Rep. Kucinich votes consistently for working people, but the fact that he votes at all is a contrast to Gephardt. While Kucinich hasn't missed a single vote, Gephardt has missed 413 of 459 votes this year, including two votes on the Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill, one of which fell three votes short of blocking funding for reducing workers' eligibility for overtime, the other of which fell two votes short of blocking funding for increasing the allowable level of dust in coal mines. Gephardt also skipped the vote to turn Head Start over to states, which passed by one vote. Does Gephardt's platform include a commitment to break Bush's record for vacation time -- not for workers but for the President?

42. I've got one thing to say about Kucinich |
|
he does indeed ROCK!!!
I was at the march in Hollywood last Sunday, 9/28. Threre was a rally on the corner of Hollywood Blvd & Highland Blvd. There was a lot of great stuff going on. Radical Teen Cheer was there, as was Code Pink & the Green Party. There were also great speakers, like Ron Kovic...and (to my surprise) Dennis Kucinich!!!
Needless to say, it was encouraging to see a major presidential candidate with the courage & vision to show up and give an inspiring speech to the folks in the peace movement. You know, he gained a lot of credibility in my eyes by walking the walk...I will have to give him very serious consideration!!!
