I'm at a loss for words
Whenever I get in an arguement about 2000 they all tell me "Would you rather have Al Gore?" Hell yes I would rather have Al Gore, anyone care to explain why anyone would think Al Gore would make a lesser president that Shrub?

1. LOL!
That's not exactly an argument that would work with Democrats, is it?

2. It took me a long time to get over the "I'm sure glad Gore wasn't
president when 911 happened." It used to steam me up.

But, since Gore's not running, I guess it no longer matters.

3. Ask them what Gore would have done that is worse than W
and have them back it up with proof of failed policies under Clinton/Gore and Gore's political career.

They won't be able to answer that because they've never heard the truth while listening to the likes of Rush.

Dare them to read Franken's book.

Ever notice that in some pictures she looks a lot like Dana Scully on the "X Files" :)

6. ask them what they think Gore would have done differently
and ask them to point to why. 911 - he would have paid attention to the warnings all summer - his former admin had developed the plans that the bushteam only began to consider (though they had it all along) after the attack.

Not cut taxes (maybe an initial targeted tax cut before the economy soured) - relieving us of the budget busting deficits that we now face, and making it more likely that those of us still working (and paying into) will have social security available should we need it. He would have been more likely to have stepped in and intervened in the California energy crisis which extracted billions out of the California economy - severely hurt major industries in California and had an accelerating impact upon the recession.

Pushed for more oil conservation, so that we already would be moving towards more oil independence (in the future) from the Middle East.

Not gone to war in Iraq for a trumped up reason (no WMD!), and without the UN so that only US and Brit folks are getting shot at and footing the entire huge bill.

8. I've declared more than once that 9/11 would not have happened. . .
if Al Gore was president.
