Talk show hosts that drop callers... |
|
Personal opinion follows: :)
I personal do not listen to call in shows that dump callers that disagree with them. I understand dumping rude callers and people that ramble on but giving someone 1 minute to speak and then have a discussion seems to be more productive. I am listening to Guy James and the second a caller stated Cindy has already met bush Guy and the other guy got excited and dumped the call. Seems to me it would have been better to discuss the issue with her. Just does not seem like much of a talk show if the host becomes hostile the second something he does not agree with is said.
Heck, I stopped listening to the Majority Report a few months ago when Jeanine Garofalo walked off the set on one of their guests.

1. Also if you had listened |

He told her that they were fixing to go to break and only had a minute or two. Also--the freepers are screwing up their show by interfering with their transmission. With all the technical difficulties you should cut them some slack.

My sentiments exactly!
They can't know much about the subject they're going on about if they won't entertain a differing opinion.
Ed Till (sp) used to be popular here in FL. (He got a gig out in CA, last I heard) He did the same thing. No one could talk unless they agreed or supported whatever he said.
As much as I wanted to call in, I knew I'd be hung up on, so why bother?
There's a guy now who I catch once in a while, Jim Phillips. I can't say I totally agree with him, but at least he'll let guests talk. It's funny, he gets THEM to hang up in frustration instead of hanging up on them. :)

4. It's not characteristic of Guy James' show to dump people. If you had ever |

listened to him previously, you would have already known he lets these buttheads rave on and on and on and on, and when they stop raving long enough to discuss it with him, he always politely shows them the flaws in their thinking.
Some listeners think Guy gives them far too much leeway. He actually does just fine.
If you have been listening long to this show you will see they are having a HORRIBLE problem with their lines: the two men who are helping co-host CANNOT hear the voices of caller or Guy James very well, as you would have noticed when they keep talking when Guy James is trying to speak. THEY CAN'T HEAR WELL.
Guy James' phone keeps going out. He's having a HELL of a time today.
Gots to speak up for these guys. They are ANYTHING but snotty.

5. Guy doesn't hang up on them on his show, you must not have |

listened before today. The co-hosts were going to a break and the caller would not let them respond to her she kept talking, very rude, imo.
