Who else thinks Jerry Brown is an idiot?
Jerry's on Hardball kissing Arnold's ass. What an idiot. He never seemed all that intelligent either. And what's with that Kadell guy? I can never take him seriously after the SNL skits with Jimmy Fallen impersonating him...

I'm more impressed with Willie Brown of SF.

Anyways, why is support for Davis so low among dems in CA? I understand he's not very likable, but I'm amazed dems don't see the Bush/Rove/enron connection. Why wasn't this been made a bigger deal?

1. They call Caddell a Democratic consultant
However, they don't mention that he worked on the Riordan campaign for Governor in '02.

13. Estrich also was campaign chair of Dukakis's 1988 campaign
So I take nothing what she says seriously.

15. I think Caddel, Estrich and
the other "Dem consultants" who keep company with them are GOP operatives. Jerry Brown's 92 campaign should have opened more eyes.

2. His brains are scrambled.
Just remember all this when he wants to run as a Dem
for Attorney General.

7. he's my mayor
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 06:34 PM by noiretblu
or rather, the mayor of the city of oakland, where i live. not too popular with the people anymore, btw. well...some of the people. jerry's got some great ideas about moving people downtown and bringing more business down there. bad part: a lot of the new developments are way too pricey for many of the city's residents  he recently fired the very popular city manager, and his "strong mayor" power-grab has him at odds with the city council. i think jerry is outta here, come the next election.

His first big pissing match, unless I'm mistaken, was taking on the Oakland school system and trying to reform it.

23. yeah...a big political battle there
he's done some good things, no question. like revitalizing the wharf area. he did get into a big and ugly battle with the school board re: his "boot camp" school, among other things. it opened eventually, after the school board rejected the idea...he found another way to do it. there are a lot of hard feelings about his "strong mayor" tactics. he's stepped on the toes of the old black poltical structure from the lionel wilson era.

8. The Daily Show had the best description about Davis
He's right about the recall being a fraud, but he's a dick. Personally though, I like him. He fights like the conservatives. He's not afraid to go dirty, which is an effective tactic I wish the dems would use against the republicans and not against each other.

Oh yeah, today I switched my party affiliation from "Unaffiliated" to "Democrat" so technically, I've been a democrat for about a day now :D

9. Then you're impressed with the very defintion of venal corruption
I'm more impressed with Willie Brown of SF.

The man is as dirty as they have ever come in California politics, and that's saying something.

11. LOL, I guess I don't know much...
about CA politics! I was simply impressed that he was supporting Davis more forcefully. It's strange for us dems outside the state to understand this apparent hatred of Davis.

Does any of this support for Arnold translate into support for Bush? Any better chance of Bush carrying the state if Arnold is in office?I've heard Bush is not very popular in CA (his approval ratings are much lower than other states I guess)...Frankly, the Arnold thing is frustrating for us out of staters, but what worries me more is Bush carrying the state!

10. You've formulated an opinion via a comedy skit?
And yet... it's Jerry Brown who is "not very intelligent."
(By the way, how many books have you written? Do YOU have a law degree from Yale? How about degrees in Latin and Greek? What elected positions have you held, fujiyama?)

So what do you thing of George W. Bush?

I hear Will Farrell does a pretty good impersonation...

14. I'll admit all I've formed my opinion on...
are their appearances on talk shows, but I'm sorry -- Jerry Brown didn't appear all that bright in the interviews. He came off as irritating by claiming Arnold is intelligent. A lot of others here seem to agree with me. I don't care how many degrees he has -- his ass kissing of Arnold certifies him as a GRADE A idiot in my book!

21. Snake
He pretends to be "liberal" and "progressive" but is really interested in money, particularly through his substantial real estate investments. I've detested x-Govonor Moon Beam since his run for the Democratic presidential nomination against Clinton. From a certain left-of-center perspective, he says 'all the right things'; but it is just to get his slimy foot in the door. I don't think he HAS any real values so it wouldn't surprise me one bit to find him brown nosing an idiot neo-Nazi meat head if he thought it would advance his own personal political and financial fortunes. What can I say, the man is without integrity.

Yes, I am an Oakland resident. No, I've never voted for him.

25. That's interesting.
It was the 92 race that set off alarm bells with me, too. Put me off Joe Trippi, as well. I don't trust their reliance on the heavy bashing of other Democrats. They use fiery rhetoric when campaigning but it masks their centrism.

Giving him undying support durring medfly spraying. What is up with that guy anyway, how come he tells the cops to open up with riot guns on peacefull anti-war protesters. Come on, tell me he is a man of the people. Wait a minute! Let me guess, the Mayor of Oakland is non partisian and we never noticed he changed parties.

Btw does Al Davis have something to do with this?

Nice to hear snide comments by others on this board. No wonder so many are sick of this place. Look, if you want to disagree with me, fine, but I don't know how you can have "demsunite" as your user ID and still believe it's fine to back Arnold or legitimize this recall.

Just where did I assert that, fujiyama?

26. Brown is the guy I liked in '92 'cause I thought he was the most liberal
guy running. Man, was I stupid. But he was sold as being more liberal than Clinton.

Psst. Makes you wonder where Howard Dean will be in 13 years.
