10. Believe it or not, many people haven't heard of her |
|
When I called Coca-Cola to complain they were giving free drinks to the anti-Cindy people, the folks on the phone had no idea who she was.
The number #1 Google search term for 3 days running, I think.

3. If not for DU, I too would not have known of her. We rarely |
|
watch TV at my house (only get one channel), but instead read books and listen to music. My news source, for the most part, is right here. Now I read a multitude of links provided by DUers every day. Thank you.

17. No newspapers either...? |
|
...THE HORROR! I cannot get out of bed without the prospect of a newspaper. Subscribe to the NYT and swap mid-day with our neighbors upstairs who get the SF Chronicle.
On the other hand, I have gone months without turning on the telly. But if you watch or read ANY news whatsoever, Cindy is there. Yesterday in the Chron, she was first page, above the fold, as in THE STORY. Of course, SF is so blue it is almost indigo, and I love being around intelligent, interesting folks.
We live in Marin, one of the wealthiest counties in the country, and it is overwhelmingly Democrat. Kind of a cool conundrum.
We have an eccentric doctor who stands outside the local market with an ironing board signing up petitioners against the war - he's been doing it for about two years now. And every Friday afternoon he and his recruits set up shop with their anti-war signs at an intersection on the only road into town. The folks who live near that intersection don't much appreciate all of the honking in favor of the cause, but GET THIS - they don't want to shut the anti-war protest down, they just want people to flash their headlights instead!

5. A friend of mine called our local Dem office |
|
the other day, to see if they were doing anything to support Cindy Sheehan. They had never heard of her. Sad. Isn't it?

13. Well, yes, after I called them and e-mailed them |
|
and lectured them on how lame they were for not knowing. Oh, I'm sure some of the people in Dem party here are paying attention--but the folks answering the phones weren't. Probably a volunteer, and maybe I shouldn't have been so harsh, but Jeesh! How could they not know? Sad or shocking, I don't no what it is--pathetic perhaps. I get so mad...wake up people!

14. Mine hates politics *phew!* But he is very conservative in his ideology of |

both politics and religion. It can be very hard so mostly we agree not to talk about it.
