Email I sent to Crawford Peace House
Hi!! I'm a truck driver trying to get a load that'll get me through Crawford. My question is, if I'm coming southbound on hwy 317, is there a place in town to legally park an 18-wheeler, or do I need to go the Flying J in Waco and hitch a ride? If I get down there, I'll do what I must to get to Camp Casey. I pray I'll be there in a few days, but if I can't, please give Cindy my love, support, and prayers. Thanks......Ron(DU screenname"liberaltrucker").

I know they're deluged with email, but I hope to find out if I can park a rig there. If anyone's familiar with the area, any info would be GREATLY appreciated:patriot:

2. Parking a rig in Crawford will be difficult at best. Your other idea is

the far better. Take the Hwy 6 that is south of Waco and head west. Now that I think about it there is probably space for you to park in McGregor at the intersection where you take a left and head to Crawford.

From there you are just a few miles away and I'm certain someone would be more than willing to pick you up and take you the rest of the way.

I'm real familiar with the Interstates in TX(and everywhere else for that matter, but not the surface roads.

3. Ron, what do truckers think of Bush's policies...
especially now that their profit margins are drastically shrinking?

6. Big companies
Like the one I work with have a fuel surcharge clause in their contracts. So they're covered. Owner-operators, on the other hand, are screwed. Most rue the day they voted for *.

9. Ron...
if you know of truckers protesting gas prices (links) or plans, send them to my pm and I will forward to those individuals I mentioned. You truckers could have your own travelling message board. BUT I assume you take off your political message before you deliver!

Far too many freepers out there. I put an electrostatic coating on my sticker so it sticks to the inside of the window. Being a company driver, I don't keep up that much with O-O issues, but I will definitely start. I'll do some research and get back to you.

11. I saved the URL of your pm to my favorites list
Hope it's OK. It'll take a few days to do the research, I got a lot of irons in the fire. Gotta get used to doing my job on top of my political activism. Hey, I'm a guy, not so good at multitasking:rofl:

4. You may have a chance to park it at Mcgregor.

AND I did notice a big parking lot that a lot of freepers were allowed to park at as well, just at 317, corner of 317 and where peace house is.

Also, the high school stadium where we all parked earlier should be with a lot less people and cars... so Id imagine you could park there with the least amount of parking. It is easy to get to, and anyone at the Peace house could tell you how to get there.I think that would be your best bet./

Going southbound, you would see some blinking yellow lights in Crawford proper...a sign to 'Ocee" should be seen on the left, that is where the peace house is. the high school stadium and parking is the road justbefore that..fourth I do believe. That will take you to the area you need to be.
