There is so much happening yet nothing seems to be happening...
Yes, we are behind Cindy Sheehan down in Crawford. We are all getting a kick out of watching Dubya squirm and make excuses. We see a record number of casualties taking place in Iraq. Two days from now, they are supposed to have their Constitution. Then, all the killing stops.

We see four-star generals being fired. We see truckers blocking the Interstate down in Florida. We see ads and controversy surrounding the Supreme Court nominee. We see murder and jailbreaks in Tennessee.

We see gasoline prices at record highs. We see all kinds of historic events taking place. Yet, somehow, it seems like nothing is happening. But, we know they are. Strange times we are living in...

2. This is WAY beyond "the revolution will not be televised."
One of my mottoes: "Whoever controls you perception of reality controls you."

However, in the reality creation game, I think the skunks have just about worn their welcome out. More than a few Americans have begun to wake up and there is definitely something in the air.

Who is in control? Anyone? And if there IS a political vacuum forming, WHAT is going to fill it?

You know what they say about nature and vaccuums.

4. Good post!
Their is a vacuum of leadership in this country, and most people desire for it to be filled--we have to have the courage to be the ones to fill it, too---and, I'm not talking just about, or even primarily, the democratic party--I mean WE---WE THE PEOPLE...it's time to step up and take back our country---if not us, then who?

13. Exactly. If not WE THE PEOPLE, then who?
What we need are a few million Cindy Sheehan's demanding justice and accountability. We are getting closer and the neocons are feeling the heat. We are on to them and they know it.

6. Maybe because it all seems
to be happening on the grassroots level and very little from Washington. It seems to be a peoples movement and if the folks down there don't catch the wave soon they are just going to be left behind. It all seems to be coming together this hot August.

8. Well one thing
is for sure.....when the revolution begins, and I think Cindy has started it, we will all be awake. People here in DU, our friends and family that we talk to....we'll be awake and ready. And I say "Bring it on!" It is in the air, and I pray the winds of change will keep a blowin!!!

7. I think the chimp is going to start lobbing nukes.....
I really do.

We are caught up in the "perfect storm" that is really going to screw things up on this planet.

Every time we think these fuckers can't get any worse, they do! The chimp is just the type of small-minded little prick to start using nukes to further his "crusade" against Muslim countries.

10. Sodium Iodite
get yourself some, can pick it up at most any health foood store. Dont mean to alarm. But it wouldnt hurt to have a bit on hand in case we're the ones who get nuked first. I mean we'll have to have a better reason to rally round the flag in order to go into Iran, especially when it seems Iraq officials are not "cooperating" with the party line and echoing that Iran is smuggling WMD into Iraq.
So, Sodium Iodite, get some.

17. Can you elaborate on this a little?
Felt like a fool recently because I went to Target and asked if they had any "Iodine" and was told by the pharmacist that it's been taken off the shelf because it's used to cook meth. I was shocked and tried to explain that I wanted it for an emergency kit and of course I sounded loonier to the guy than a meth user no doubt-lol! Oh and he said no one had ever asked him for if for the reason I wanted it...

So can you explain the difference- what is Sodium Iodite-is it to be injested? I am now confused because this is the directions I found on another site:

"When fallout is first anticipated, even though it has not yet arrived, have anybody still outside begin wearing their dust protector filter masks and hooded rain ponchos. Everyone should begin taking their Potassium Iodide (KI) or Potassium Iodate (KIO3) tablets for thyroid protection against cancer causing radioactive iodine, a major product of nuclear weapons explosions. If no tablets available, you can topically (on the skin) apply an iodine solution, like tincture of iodine or Betadine, for a similar protective effect. (WARNING: Iodine solutions are NEVER to be ingested or swallowed.) For adults, paint 8 ml of a 2 percent tincture of Iodine on the abdomen or forearm each day, ideally at least 2 hours prior to possible exposure. For children 3 to 18, but under 150 pounds, only half that amount painted on daily, or 4 ml. For children under 3 but older than a month, half again, or 2 ml. For newborns to 1 month old, half it again, or just 1 ml. (One measuring teaspoon is about 5 ml, if you don't have a medicine dropper graduated in ml.) If your iodine is stronger than 2%, reduce the dosage accordingly. Absorption through the skin is not as reliable a dosing method as using the tablets, but tests show that it will still be very effective for most. Do not use if allergic to iodine. If at all possible, inquire of your doctor NOW if there is any reason why anybody in your household should not use KI or KIO3 tablets, or iodine solutions on their skin, in a future nuclear emergency, just to be sure."

9. Good post. The underpinnings of any real support shrubco used to have
are gone. All that remains is the phony propaganda, yet they are still in power, with no concrete means of their removal yet at hand (no indictments etc.).

That is the reason for all of the tension I think.

16. Kentuck there is a sea change but the press is late to the party
Enjoy

THE TIMES ARE A CHANGING - Bob Dylan

Come gather 'round people

Wherever you roam

And admit that the waters

Around you have grown

And accept it that soon

You'll be drenched to the bone.

If your time to you

Is worth savin'

Then you better start swimmin'

Or you'll sink like a stone

For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics

Who prophesize with your pen

And keep your eyes wide

The chance won't come again

And don't speak too soon

For the wheel's still in spin

And there's no tellin' who

That it's namin'.

For the loser now

Will be later to win

For the times they are a-changin'.

....

There's a battle outside

And it is ragin'.

It'll soon shake your windows

And rattle your walls

For the times they are a-changin'.

.....

The line it is drawn

The curse it is cast

The slow one now

Will later be fast

As the present now

Will later be past

The order is

Rapidly fadin'.

And the first one now

Will later be last

For the times they are a- changing
