remember Bill was always in Church on Sunday. I will google it and get back to you, I know he is a member of the United Methodist Church......oh my mother just loves him for it.
I found it: Amy Sullivan writes for The New Republic:
The very fact that the president doesn't attend church, some leading conservatives insist, is proof of what a good Christian he is. Unlike certain past presidents they could name but won't--ahem, cough, Bill Clinton--Bush doesn't feel the need to prove his religiosity. "This president has not made an issue of where he goes to church," says Michael Cromartie of the Ethics and Public Policy Center. "I find it refreshing that we don't have a president coming out of church with a large Bible under his arm." Conservatives relish this opportunity for a little gratuitous Clinton-bashing. In private, however, they admit the explanation doesn't hold up. "I really don't get it," one prominent Bush partisan told me. "There's no reason why the president couldn't find a church around here if he wanted to."
The excuses offered by conservatives for why Bush doesn't go to church are pathetic — but even more pathetic are the efforts to bash Clinton in the process. Conservative defenders don't have any good responses to this because they have so much invested in the meme that Republicans go to church more often than Democrats and if that meme is going to mean anything, it's difficult to deal with the fact that Clinton and Carter went to church regularly but Bush never does.
Doesn't George have some Hogs to wash on Sunday?? Do you believe these hypocrites.....not going to church makes you a better Christian. Ya, and not going to school makes you a better student, and not going to work makes you a better worker, and not being in the White House makes you a better President. There I fixed the universe for them.

By George Bush standards, that makes me a REALLY good Christian! Practically right-hand-of-God good!
And, I guess, there are many in the world, having never attended a Christian church at all, who outrank the Pope!

Amazing, but not surprising, that the repukes will jump through hoops to try and justify the chimp's behavior. This phony POS is apparently "born again" and a "Christian" only when it suits his purposes -- as in the all important pre-election photo-op.
For sincere "born agains," going to church is important. It is a social as well as a religious experience.
I personally don't care whether or not the moron goes to church; but since he doesn't, he has no business running around proclaiming himself to be something he's not.
As for Clinton, he did attend church on Sunday while he was Pres., and didn't make a big deal out of it. I recall a LTTE of a local paper here in Southern CA written by a woman who was passing the plate one Sunday at a church in Malibu, and was surprised to be passing it to Clinton. He had come in quietly and with no fanfare.

:eyes: I've never heard of Bush going to church either. I remember flipping channels and seeing something on TBN or some network similar to that and Bush was at church with Laura and Bill and Hillary and some other's for some "Special" service for the troops and I wanted to puke. You could tell by his actions that he was really bored but Laura seemed to be sincere as Bill and Hillary. But yes. There was an article I read around the election called "Why W Doesn't Go to Church." Try to google for it. It's a good read and tells how when Clinton was in office he went to a baptist church down the road every time the doors were open for services with Hillary and Chelsea and Chelsea was involved with the youth group and choir and security wasn't a problem since they had SS and metal detectors at the door(s). If Bush was really a Christian he would really want to go to church and be around those who share his faith and worship God and Christ and grow in his faith and have Christian friends. Yes we want to be out in the world but you need some time to worship God too if you're truly a Christian you would love going to church and everything. Bush is just a fake Christian just like he's a fake cowboy and Texan.

If someone had to be asked, the only good thing about it being the last one is that it would be the last one.
I read that quote and wish the next person who dies for a lie that I read about would be the last one. Not to wish it on anyone, but wish it to be the last.

15. I remember watching this documentary on PBS about this |
|
and I think it was either called "With God on Our Side" or "Faith in the White House." It was something like that. But basically they told how Bush supposedly became a Christian and was inspired by Billy Graham (probably cause he's the most well known preacher and more respected and believable then Jerry Falwell) and how he used to drink and whatnot (and now everybody knows he did pot) and he said Laura told him to either change his life or leave and that's when he supposedly met Billy Graham and became "born again" (baptized) and a Christian. What's really surprising is you never hear Bush talk more about his so-called experience of becoming a Christian. Usually people I know through church or just listening to talk about their beliefs they really have a great story and details but Bush doesn't have any of that. I remember at the Clinton library someone lead a prayer and they showed Barbara Bush and she kept opening her eyes like "is it over yet?" LOL. Bush had his eyes closed way too hard and squinting or something.

And in this documentary I saw dealing with that it told how Karl Rove saw this and how people reacted to it in Texas (when he was running for governor) and he used that. It's a great documentary. Try to find it at pbs.org if you can.

16. Answer = Yes, George Bush will be going to church tomorrow. |
|
And yes, he will be driving right by Cindy Sheehan. Once again, she will recognize him and hold up her white cross for him to see.
She doesn't really need to hold it up. Bush saw over 1,700 white crosses, as he drove by the for barbecue. He has black tinted windows, but you can see white crosses through the windows anyway.
You see, these crosses remind Bush that he has sent almost 2,000 loyal young Americans to their deaths. Now, death doesn't bother him. Other peoples' deaths, that is.
But this IS getting under his skin. He doesn't like to be reminded of what he did so close to home. And it's not just him. It's his cronies. Laura. His daughters have to see this gruesome sight. He's got his reputation to think about, after all.
It's like a knife, stabbing him every time he goes by. And the stress is turning him into a babbling idiot.
