Possibly the dumbest freerepublic post ever
Edited on Sun Aug-14-05 10:43 AM by Mizmoon
It's so foolish it's breathtaking ...

------------------------------
To: HushTX
It's sad when politics intrudes on the President's "getaway" time. How would Ms. Cindy like it if several hundred Bush supporters followed her around on her next "vacation"? Oh right, except that conservatives are much more decent, caring folk even though Ms. Cindy seems to have changed her mind about that too!

Tell them that - I don't have the stomach to go over there this morning.

4. "Getaway" time?
This guy is suppose to be leading the free world (notice the use of the words "suppose to") I feel very secure in saying if I were president during a war that I started (justified or not), I wouldn't be taking any R&R while Americans were dying.

Just like a rethug. Deny the working American vacation days, but defend a thug who takes 5 weeks off to play cowboy on his "ranch." :eyes:

11. How about the 1/4 of Americans who have no paid vacation time?
Geez. These are the same people who are against unions. They think it's ok for the average person to work round the clock.

Bush gets a whole month off while my dad is lucky to get four weeks off a total year (two for summer and two for Christmas and he's a civil engineer at TVA if you're wondering).

What company or organization can one work for that offers 5 weeks vacation right off the bat?

How many people in America had to forget about their vacation, because Bush's pals are gouging us to death at the gas pumps?

7. I think Repubs don't understand words. They just take the phrases
we use and try to assume those words can apply to them, too.

In Crawford yesterday there was a truck driving around with the words "Cindy lied. Support Bush" on the windows. Lied about what? Her son dying? Wanting to ask Bush a question? They make no sense, they have no idea what's going on, they just breath the air around them and spit out the words they've heard, usually with nearly illiterate grammar, and they think they've done or meant something.

Bush is the perfect president for them.

8. Hard to believe it's not a joke.
Even if the president is a good one, his is a 24/7 job. This one makes one bad decision after another and then hides from them.

To call this poster an idiot is an insult to idiots.

16. No this is the stupidest post EVER, anywhere
via Digby, who picked it up from a poster on Andrew's site:

The Latest

I know this isn’t going to popular on this website, but may I just point something out?

A soldier’s #1 job is to stay alive. If you die, you can’t accomplish the mission, and you weaken your team and put your buddies in danger.

Obviously Sheehan’s son, I forget his name at the moment, didn’t die on purpose, and he may well have have had no control over the circumstances that let to his death.

BUT.

In war, there are no excuses. You find a way to stay alive, whatever it takes — if you’re a good soldier. Sheehan’s son didn’t do that. He paid the price. but he als failed the mission and let down his buddies.

As a soldier, he was a failure. He was brave (maybe), but he was also incompetent.

So, really, how much exactly are we supposed to grieve over this guy? Isn’t a certain amount of disapproval in order for the guy — and by extension his mom, for making such a fuss over a person who was, in the last analysis, by definition a loser?

So shouldn’t Mrs. Sheenhan be showing a little more shame about the situation and maybe not wanting to get her son and his shortcoming splashed all over the media?

Something to consider, anyway.

Surely, that IS the dumbest post ever.

Soldiers who die are now to be considered "failures"?

:wtf: doesn't even BEGIN to cover it.

This moron should have his keyboard revoked.

Better yet...I want my oxygen back.

28. Ho...LEE...Shit.
That pisses me off royally. I do not advocate violence, but that poster needs a serious ass-kicking from a soldier who lost buddies in Iraq--I think I'll call my brother.

DU doesn't have a smiley powerful enough to convey my rage at that post.

That is the most disgraceful thing I have ever read...EVER. What a fucking moron.

18. I have yet to see anything decent and caring about conservatives.
I don't say that flippantly. If you simply look at the music that defines the left and the music that defines the right, you'll see the difference. That sounds trite, but the lyrics are telling. We are the party that cares, it's who we are. Republicans care about one thing: money. If they can veil it with religion or values, all the better. If you really get those "decent" republican folks talking at great length, their most salient point is ALWAYS about their money not being spent to help other people. I don't care if they whine or scream that it's about patriotism, or morals, or the children... it's all about the money.

It blows me away that princess leah there at freeperland hasn't asked herself if they feel good knowing that their idol has had a gazillion more days of vacation than they have. Boo fucking hoo that Bush is being followed around on vacation. Perhaps the better question from the freeper would have been: HOW WOULD IT FEEL TO LOSE YOUR SON IN A WAR THAT WAS FOUND TO BE BASED UP LIES THAT CHANGED DAILY? Hey.. how would THAT feel? Perhaps that was the better question.

24. Bush had a month-long paid vacation after spending less than 7 months
on the job.

Wonder what conservatives would give their employees that kind of benefit - even if they did check their e-mail while "off".

Bush's job is interfering with his permanent vacation.

26. So Cindy Sheehan's the president now?!
This asshole makes no sense.

Cindy Sheehan is not responsible for the deaths of 1000+ men and women, nor is she responsible for the countless irredeemably stupid pieces of legislation that this president has rammed through in the last five years, making life a lot harder for most Americans...so therefore, several hundred people would have no fucking reason to follow her around and dog her during her "getaway" (HA!) time.

My god in heaven...Just how much can they spin?! "Party of Personal Responsibility" my crotch.
