Protest by a grieving mother gains momentum - Cindy Sheehan
Houston Chronicle ^ | August 11, 2005 | Bennett Roth

Posted on 08/11/2005 12:28:40 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

I little taste:

But Larry Mattlage, who owns the farm across the road from where Sheehan and her supporters are encamped, was not pleased by the new visitors, who hung protest signs in the trees. Sitting on his parked tractor across the road, Mattlage said he supported the right to protest but that the demonstrators should not be allowed to stay for prolonged periods.

"In the morning I usually wake up and see the morning sun," he said. "Now I wake up to stuff hanging in trees."

2. The cops probably threw his ass in jail by now.
It's against the law to fire shots within a certain number of feet from a crowd.

7. Not a chance!
Remember, this is Texas we're talking about. If he's not in city limits and on his own property, he can.

8. Didn't sound like it from the posted descriptions of the incident.

They talked to him.

Nice police work! Way to protect the president.

Glad he missed the helicopters keeping an eye on the peaceful protest below!

3. They'd be sympathetic to Ted Bundy if it served their cause
Then again being next to such a primo-neighbor he could sell and get some good $ for his house if peace and quiet is what he wants.

I'm sure there are a bunch of freeptards who can collectively sell their trailers and live communally as one bug cheer for the chimp ranch house!

5. I read some of that thread
Y'know ... people like that ... they're just not right.

You'd think Cindy Sheehan was a member of the Illuminati, the CFR, and the Church of Satan.

Every time I get to thinking that half the people here at DU are nuts, I read a little over at FR, who strive daily to raise the bar on "nuts".

--p!
Or as they call it over there, "Excellence".

6. Yeah, It Is Pretty Gross
You can see why they would like a guy that threatens peaceful protesters with guys.

Frankly, I am beginning to wonder how long we are looking at another Kent State (not in Crawford per se but somewhere).
