Bush May Be Feeling It in the "Donations" |
|
C-Span Washington Journal this a.m. read an article from one of the major newspapers regarding some fund raising problems. Apparently, there is to be "the" big fund raiser soon in Wisconsin which will be the only time Bush will come there to raise the bucks for his campaign. The organizer is frantic. He assumed it would be a piece of cake to get the usual $2,000 per person donation from the wealthy, corporations, etc. as was raked in before. However, they are turning him down and only agreeing to write checks of $100 or $200 at most. Article said that the reason given to the organizer is "Iraq"........so, apparently the big repukes feel this is likely to do the boy in and don't want to contribute to a dead horse. Interesting. Just saw Howard Fineman on Hardball who said WH isn't worried about any of our candidates. They feel that the Iraq thing will be okay for them because he will be presented as a morally strong, courageous man presenting this is terms of black and white and the people will pick that over this "go to the UN and make friends with other nations" junk of the Dems. He said Bush's biggest worry is the economy (must not have any faith in his fixes)but that he will have the $170 million war chest (hmmm, that's faded from the predicted $200 million); and starting about March when they know who our nominee is, they will use it to "carpet bomb" (Fineman's words) our candidate. They feel any of our guys will be easy to destroy........we'll see, asshole, we'll see. Time to lock and load a lot of ammo ourselves, I say.

See, it doesn't matter who WE individually support; to the BFEE we're ALL 'dead meat'. "Bring it ON, Commander Bunnypants!"

2. Interesting anecdote about the fund-raising |
|
BTW, Fineman's comments are no surprise. The 2004 strategy was outlined in a N.Y. Times story. As you say, our nominee needs to be ready to fight fire with fire.

He doesn't need a few lousy tens of thousands from some square headed cheezers. He's got half the money in the world in his pocket.

The rich repukes can't afford to donate more, because they already used their money up creating new jobs, or hadn't you heard?:hippie:
