OMG! Anyone Watch Olbermann Tonight? |
|
Not only did he nail the Wilson story, he also ended the show with a long rant about the truly American value of dissent. Along the way, he slammed O'Reilly multiple times. It was beautiful. Wait for the transcript. I can't do it justice.

I seriously almost teared up. His impassioned plea for tolerance of opinion was eloquent and moving. How ironic that something like that would come from a man who got his start as a commentator on ESPN, when the airwaves are clogged with lockstep lifetime 'journalists.'

Keith really layed into O'Really and a great rant about how dissent is necessary for this country.
I can't wait to see the transcript to re-read what he said. It was priceless.

I've been an Olbermann fan since he was on ESPN! (Maybe, because every time there was a hockey fight, he'd add the dialogue, "Roman dog!" and "Saracen pig!" from Woody Allen's "What's Up Tiger Lilly.")

His "White House in Crisis" was a masterpiece of sarcasm & seldom failed to show the rethugs for the hypocrites they are.

11. I saw the first part - the story with Wilson, etc. |
|
and it was great because he really hit hard. Darn, I didn't stay around until the end. You know, I've said many times that once we get the bums numbers down, we will have the media boys who want to become popular with the popular opinion finally start slamming him. We should encourage him and write him a thank you!!!! About time they had something other than Tweety whoring all over the place. OHHHHH, and don't forget that tonight, Scarboro is going to tell us who of our candidates the WH really fears---he's going to have Bennett on to tell us. HAHAHAHA---said it would be real surprising. Duh, no shit. And if you believe their 'pick', I have a map of the WMDs in Iraq to sell you!!!!!!!

the only way commercial tv allows this on the air is if advertisers know that the demographics they want to reach with their commericals actually watch.
there is no reason not to use the tools of capitalism to increase the broadcast of progressive views.
and the enitre show was most excellent. keith evescerated kazan, shocking and righteously so.

28. You know, Enraged American--alot of people were hurt |
|
by the HUAC and Joe McCarthy himself. Lives were lost, careers ruined, only by suspicion. I personally feel we are all fallible human beings and capable of great beauty while destroying it at the same time. I do not fault anyone holding Kazan to account for his deeds of good or bad. We all gotta answer the call in the end for what we did in this life.

...Olbermann told me in email that if he had more Dems watching, the news execs would give him full control over content. He said they have to play to demographics, and at this time more conservatives are watching than lefties.
So watch! And write to tell them you are watching! And send notice to all your friends and family! Get his numbers up!

This show was great tonight! Worth it for the O'Lielly rant and the #1 story on Elia Kazan's naming names and showed Ed Harris and Amy Madigan sitting in dissent during Kazan's Academy Award presentation. This was Grade AAA stuff tonight.
Olberman's the only one on cable I watch.

It was at the end of the rapid review, in reference to the gorilla. What are the 3 signs your pet gorilla is a problem? The 3rd sign is if he gets too many calls from Novak.
Looking forward to the Kazan segment. Olbermann rocks.

I didn't know a thing about the show or who he was until I was idly flipping through channels one night and stumbled across Count Down. I've been a fan ever since. Tonight's show was especially good. The juxtaposition of Arnie only dealing with the enteratinment press with his comment about dissent was a one-two punch KO to the Moron Media.
