2. They're recall-happy here... |

I'm in WI. There's a group called "Citizens for a Responsible Government." They had some credibility when they took on the Milwaukee county board -- the board had quietly voted itself a sweet, expensive pension deal -- and some of the recalls on other lawmakers have been at least somewhat understandable. (If you've used your office for illegal campaign activity, for instance.)
But Doyle is a recall target simply because CRG is on a power grab. The "reason" is because he didn't support a straw-man property-tax freeze.

5. They'll change the law immediately so that he can't be recalled. |
|
They'll figure out a way to do this. After all, the "rule of law" doesn't apply to them.

7. Exactly. Where's Ken Starr now that we need him? Long gone. |
|
Bush isn't going to put up with that kind of investigating, and if the Repubs get into power in CA, they'll pull the chain on any and all future recalls.

California Secretary of State (SoS) Kevin Shelley.
As the chief elections officer, he is responsible for election tabulation and certification.
I'll hazard a guess and say the GOP will run Ueberroth should the recall happen and qualify since he has an aura of "reform" and being 'a great manager'. That will allow California to rig elections.
The GOP needs the California SoS office to rig elections.
However, the current circus will likely wear out the people and prevent another recall from ripening in California for another 20+ years.
Side note: If Shwarzenegger is *blech* elected, the fact that the people will be worn out PLUS his star power will prevent his recall...
I urge all Californians to vote No on Recall, Yes on Bustamante. I think, unfortunately, the recall will succeed  but that Arnold will jump the shark and Bustamante will win.
