No brush clearing photos, yet? Not one???
I guess with the flap over how long and how often he vacations, they decided to make a point of not showing him "clearing brush," for once? The recent photos I've seen have all been of him "meeting with cabinet officials" on his "ranch" in an obvious attempt to make it look like he's actually "working" on his vacation.

Has anyone seen any photos of him "manfully" clearing some of that new brush, yet? Links?

1. Speaking of the infamous brush...
My partner spent the weekend at Camp Casey and she said the land was flat, dry and empty. She figures Bush imports the brush 'cause there wasn't enough of it around to need cutting.

She also noticed that the only animal in view on Bush's ranch was a turkey buzzard.

4. Early on, I seem to remember some pix of him with a chainsaw. . .
and I read somewhere about him with an axe, but you're right: they're definitely downplaying the "vacation" aspect this time around. (And I may have only seen recycled photos. . . I don't pay much attention to GDumbya's pix -- unless they're goofy.)

What I'd like to see George do is recreate a feat Mr Lincoln performed in the White House one day. Someone brought in a two-headed axe (a blade on each side of the head) and asked Mr Lincoln if he could heft it. The President grabbed the axe by the end of the handle with one hand and held it aloft, straight out at shoulder height for a couple of minutes.

I wonder if George could even pick up a two-headed axe using both hands?

5. In his case, just knowing enough to try and grab it from the handle end...
...would be victory enough.

7. There is a report, that while Lincoln lay dying at the house across
from Ford's Theater, he was stripped down and laid diagonally across the bed because it was too small for him to be laid correctly. Anyway, the physicians in attendance marveled at how Lincoln posessed such a muscular body beneath the clthes he wore. He was always thought to be 'gangly', but he was hard muscled from years of work.

I do not think the same could be said of bush.

8. ranch....photo-op are all fake *even the "hay bales" take turns.

CRAWFORD, Texas – Ricky Sanders may have the most famous hay bales in America.

Want to see them? Just turn on one of the all-day cable news networks when President Bush is at his ranch in Crawford. Odds are the correspondent will be standing in front of the rolled hay bales – as well as the tool shed – on land owned by Mr. Sanders and his brothers.

Not that he's all that crazy about it.

"It's one of those deals," Mr. Sanders said, shrugging his shoulders. "There's nothing I can do about it – they're not on my property."

The camera positions are on land belonging to the Crawford school that reporters use while Mr. Bush is in town. Correspondents stand on the other side of the fence from Mr. Sanders' side yard, which is supposed to reflect the rural serenity that Mr. Bush enjoys at his ranch about 10 miles away.

Not that all the television people are crazy about it either.

"It looks like a fake set," one TV producer said. "It looks kind of phony."

While the Sanderses' side yard is probably the most-broadcast part of Crawford, television producers have also looked for other pictures from Mr. Bush's adopted hometown.
