The Difference between candidate Clinton and candidate Kerry
And the reason that we could be seeing Bill and Hillary walking into the White House in January 2009. People like Hillary and Howard Dean will fight back, people like Kerry and Biden will muzzle themselves, because fighting back wouldn't be nice.

http://www.newyorkmetro.com/nymetro/news/people/features/12469/
"The disarray of Clinton’s party continues to rankle him. You can hear it in his voice; he’s constantly fretting to friends. When the Swift Boat ads were saturating the airwaves, Clinton told John Kerry that he should immediately call for a town-hall meeting with Bush and Cheney, so that everyone could “sit around and talk about what they did during the Vietnam War.” The campaign didn’t listen.

Why?
“I don’t know,” he says at first, then reconsiders. “But I do know that when voters hear all these attacks, they may not necessarily believe them, but they give great weight to how you deal with them.”

A big part of the GOP’s success, he ventures, “has been the increasing capacity of Republicans like Karl Rove to go after Democrats as people and as Americans.” But, he plaintively adds, “if they keep beating us with the same old strategy, we have to say it’s as much our fault as theirs.”"

9. Run John Kerry again
Maybe the Republican candidate will stay up to receive Kerry's concession call, maybe even before the polls close.

10. At least, Kerry does not need to rewrite history.
Seems that Clinton does.

5. I agree about Clinton
I think people are tired of republicans running the show. Kerry is at least left-wing and truely. I remember reading last year an article of his ex-wife being interviewed and she was talking about how Kerry wanted to go after the SBVT guys but the DNC (Terry McAullife) wouldn't let him and they also didn't allow Bush bashing. :eyes: And remember that Clinton (Bill) told Kerry to come out against gay marriage too.

2. And we are supposed to believe him now.
Edited on Mon Aug-15-05 07:20 PM by Mass
BTW, he also said Kerry that he should stop talking about VietNam (and he did that publicly), and that he should endorse anti-gay referendums.

So, please, may be he wants to rewrite history, but I doubt he did that at the time he says.

4. That's odd. When it was happening it was Clinton's people telling DNC
not to go after Bush during the convention and Clinton advising Kerry to stay positive. And Clinton telling Kerry to endorse antigay measures in swing states.

11. maybe so, but Kerry should have listened to his own councel
from what I understand he wanted to get out front on this issue but his campaign managers said, "don't do it--it will only make it worse by adding more attention to it." So, we get August and into September all about the Swift Boat liars instead of Bush lies.

16. The Swift Liars Had Little Impact. Most People Who Were Influenced With
that crap were NEVER going to vote Kerry.

Kerry won.

17. Both are DLC losers and a damned good reason to vote Green.
Both support the war and roll over on command from their corporate masters.

19. The Clintons are fighters....
They definitely would not wait to respond to a Swiftboat type attack.

Here is one of the most interesting stories about Hillary Clinton that I have ever heard. It comes from Gail Sheehey.

Gail Sheehey was with Hillary Clinton during the 1992 campaign, when the Gennifer Flowers story first broke. And she said in an interview one time that Hillary instantly went into battle mode. She got the aides around her, and said "Get Bill on the phone!"

And she said if she could get Gennifer on the witness stand, she would crucify her, pointing out inconsistencies in her story, etc.

Gail Sheehey said it was the most amazing thing she ever saw!
