He died from leukemia but the on-line obiturary does not say so |
|
Nor does the on-line version contain what the daily paper says:
He joined the Guard and went to Iraq in Feb 2003. Returned home April 2004. He volunteered to go back 6 months later (Oct 2004).
Returned home April 2005 with Acute Lymphoblast Leukemia (diagnosed May 17) and died Aug 11.
He was 21 and had a wife and daughter.
In view of the no personal info, I didn't put any identifiying info here. Not sure if that applies to obituaries or not, as they are public notice.
Does depleted uranium cause this?

3. Radiation Can Cause Leukemia |
|
So maybe depleted uranium could since it is still radioactive. Cancer from radiation is not dose-dependent - it's more like the roll of the dice - the higher the exposure, the more rolls of the dice.
But I am a veterinarian and not a medical doctor, so no expert.

5. The Obituary is totally up to the family. |
|
It is, in fact, an advertisement written by the next of kin & placed in the paper (or online) by the Funeral Director. Guess you've never had to make Arrangements.
Of course Depleted Uranium can cause Leukemia.

it, but so many variables that it can't be proven.
This is the excuse they use for many, many cancers.

will have to read what DU does to people, land, water. Thank You for the link.
And you are most likely correct - they will say DU didn't do anything to him.
I guess what bugs me about this is that the on-line version doesn't have this info whereas the paper does. Selective editing, I guess.
