KUCINICH: It's the last day of the quarter. SEND MONEY; hold lawyers, guns
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 05:32 AM by Mairead
From a mailing.
This weekend I spoke out on your behalf on TV and radio and at an antiwar rally in California. Your support is allowing me to take my message to the airwaves. Here's a bit of what I said:

"The President has asked for another $87 billion with which to sink us further into the quicksand of a U.S.-occupied Iraq, even though a majority of you oppose spending that money. It is time to demand 'U.N. in, U.S. out!' There must be no privatization of the oil that belongs to the Iraqi people.

"This unjustified war has already cost thousands of Iraqi and American lives. U.S. soldiers are continuing to be killed and wounded. More Americans have died in Iraq since the President declared the mission accomplished than prior to that point.

"Now is the time to raise your voices, Americans. Hold peaceful demonstrations. Do not be intimidated! And call your Congress members to tell them to vote against another $87 billion for this misadventure."

My message is different than the other presidential candidates -- and thanks to you, it is spreading.

Sincerely,
Dennis J. Kucinich

Money you give today will mean more than money you wait til tomorrow to give. If you appreciate Dennis speaking out about this vicious invasion and occupation, if you appreciate Dennis rallying opposition to the PNAC's grab at world domination, a contribution today (http://www.kucinich.us/contribute.php) would be a good way to show you care.

Are any of the other candidates opposing this madness so strongly?

2. Dennis introduced an HR bill to gut the Patriot Act just last week --

isn't that worth a donation to keep him out on the campaign trail, speaking truth to power?

3. I just tried...
But they didn't take my credit card. So now my partner is making me wait until payday.

I'm a Clark supporter. But I love this man for his ideas and his forthright anti-war stance. We need to give him as much of a platform as possible while the media attention is focused on the candidates during the primary campaign.

4. By the way
Is there a political reason why the Kucinich campaign doesn't take AmEx?

5. I can't think of any...it's a third-party company doing the actual work
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 07:37 AM by Mairead
--an outfit I've never heard of-- so it could be that they simply don't have an amexco merchant account.

I agree that it's not at all helpful to Dennis, tho!!

20. I tried the phone line
But they don't take AmEx there. They're probably routing through the same vendor.

6. I've got nothing
left but my time and effort. My husband supports Dean so we have agreed to each spend only so much. I continue to send out his letters to all. I am really impressed with how many people do not support him as their candidate but send him money anyway. This tells me he is really having an affect on many people. I am so glad to see that and THANK YOU to any of you who have supported him.

7. TODAY I AM FUND RAISING FOR KUCINICH
I'm just a working class person. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. My NOT LUXURIOUS rent is over 1,000 a month! I have very little extra money. BUT TODAY I AM GIVING KUCINICH $100.

Moreover, I am going to talk to every one of my friends and work at getting them to do the same. I know of one who has already agreed to do so.

Kucinich's represents what *I* believe: we need LEADERSHIP and VISION for a NEW CENTURY of GLOBAL AWAKENING. The enemy of the people isn't "over there"; it isn't struggling third world countries with despots that forces within our own society put in power. THE ENEMY IS WITHIN THE GATES AND WITHIN OUR OWN INSTITUTIONS. Worst of all, the enemy is within ourselves when their policies cause us to FEAR and ACT IRRESPONSIBLY on the global stage.

There must be a NEW VISION FOR WHAT IS HUMANLY POSSIBLE. Do we really believe that the likes of George W. Bush IS THE BEST THAT HUMANITY HAS TO OFFER?! The man is a liar and a criminal and, I do believe, a traitor to the Constitution and to this nation. He is not a man worthy of our respect. And he is NOT respected by many of us and he is NOT respected by people around the world because they see him for precisely what he is. SUCH A MAN AS THIS CAN NOT LEAD THE UNITED STATES AND HUMANITY TO FACE WHAT LIES BEFORE US. SUCH A MAN AS GEORGE W. BUSH CAN LEAD US ONLY TO TYRANYNY.

I know, I'm ranting. The point is that Kucinich is EVERYTHING that George W Bush is not. He is a man of integrity and honor, a man with vision and principles, A MAN WHO CAN LEAD THE UNITED STATES TO FULFILLING ITS HUMAN DESTINY AS THE GREATEST NATION ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. A nation that KNOWS what JUSTICE really is, what FREEDOM really is, a nation that understands that one must walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

Together the human race CAN SOLVE THE PROBLEMS THAT LIE DIRECTLY IN OUR FUTURE. We have the intelligence, the resources, the wisdom to do so. But the new world, the new vision, is not of ONE COUNTRY dominating the world; it is of many nations, many societies, many people all over the world joining together to create a better world for ourselves, all of us, and a future world worth living in, worthy of all the best qualities of the human being.

Kucinich recognizes these things and that is why I support him. Give, folks, give until it hurts. NOTHING LESS WILL END THIS DESPOTISM.

(rant off)

8. I got 5 members of the Health Council to send $5 minimum each.
Edited on Tue Sep-30-03 08:15 AM by revcarol
They are trying to get a state-wide health plan that covers everyone in the state instituted here in NM. They agreed that it was at least $5 bucks each to keep his ideas about universal single-payer coverage in the FOREFRONT.(They didn't say who their candidates were.)

So, if you like some of DK's ideas, no matter who your candidate of choice is, pony up $5.00 to keep those ideas viable for our future.

I sent him my second donation, which is only the second donation I've ever made to any political candidate. Kucinich is the one.

P.S. If I sell lots of buttons, I'll send him more money...

16. I am dipping into my "hidden" savings...
and sending this man $100.00 right now.

I promised myself that I would send $50.00 to the organization I felt was doing the most good in the world right now, in lieu of my physical presence blowing a whistle and screaming at ole Whistle Ass. I had vociferously vowed to attend the jocularity, but I have a business opportunity that day.

Whatever chance you think my main man Dennis Kucinich does or doesn't have--admit that his voice IS being heard--and his ideas ARE "changing the world"-which he stated on TDS with John Stewart was his reason for running for president. If he weren't running there would be so much less truth on the airwaves and in print for us to work with these days.

I know many of you would pony up for our reformed esteemed Senator from wild, wonderful West Virginia, another patriot in this fight-if he needed money to continue his exposes. But he isn't running-and Kucinich is. He is calling a spade a spade, and the more money he has, the louder his voice is.

I WILL VOTE FOR ANYONE BUT BUSH. That means Lieberman or Clark, too. But this opportunity to continue the brutal, honest, hard, truth about the state of our country and the world is best served by letting Dennis get his groove on, ...and for as long as possible.

Send the man the money you would spend eating out this week to say thank-you.

17. Are any of the other candidates
opposing this madness so strongly?

No. And it is difficult for me to understand why not. Out of all the candidates, Dennis's platform is the most viable, solution oriented, pro-democracy, pro civil liberties, and pro-America platform by far. The only real reason that he may be "unelectable" is because many Democrats believe he is, even if they think he has the best ideas. Go for the best, don't settle for less.

:dem:make war archaic, support Kucinich.

I know I gave my share earlier this month.

Please kick in, even if you support another. DK deserves it and so does this country.
