Poll question: POLL: Should crosses for dead soldiers be at every Bush appearance?
Every single place this sorry fuck sleeps, stops to raise money, or even fall off his bicycle?

I think it would drive Rove nuts given how hard they have tried to avoid the troop deaths.

8. Well, I'm an atheist and I'm all for the crosses
and whatever other various symbols (Star of David, etc.) they use to mark the graves of fallen servicemen. How about a traveling memorial with a cross/star/etc. for each fallen soldier from the Iraq war that follows Dubya around wherever he goes? Personally, that's something I'd LOVE to see. Dubya would never acknowledge it but something like that would be pretty hard for the media to avoid. I'm sure they'd do their best though but it would require a lot of effort on their part.

21. The reason would be to counter the Fundies who claim to have
a monopoly on the cross. It would be a powerful message that the filthy libruls have Christians too. I also would encourage other symbols for non-Christian or non-religious people.

25. it is also a very recognized symbol of honoring premature death
or what is often seen as ....geez, i don't know how to put this un-painfully, ..... needless....death.

Deaths that have occurred due to the wrong actions of others.
somehow the white crosses, stir the heart not in 'religious' devotion, but in the STARK reality of the fact that a human being has been taken from this world unjustly.- it never has meant 'christianity' to me- crosses existed long before the crucifixion.

24. I'm an atheist, but I like the simplicity of the message...
that the crosses would send to Bush and the right wing. It's hard to imagine any other symbol causing as much political damage.

Heck, if the Religious Right wants to shove its dogma down everyone's throat, why can't the anti-war movement do something similar (except it would be good for the country)?

4. One Big Purple Heart, with the latest total.. at minum
EVERYWHERE that Clinton went, protesters would be there. Maybe just 1 or 2. But they would be at this street corner or that. So even if a WHOLE CREW doesn't show up.... And the crosses can't be transported... the idea would still be doable if anytime he is going to be in your area.. Pick a corner and hold a sign. ANYWHERE an orginzed attempt to protest is made, the protesters would be moved out of the way. But on street corners... EVERY possible route

Maybe some can do that and some can do the crosses or other religious symbols. Whatever you feel like doing.

5. 2K flags at half-staff, for a more nondenominational look
the DoD may have quick-and-easy religious references, since I saw that each of the Lazy W Ranch crosses were named, so time was taken to look up each heart-rending name

9. Anything the protester feels approprate to each thier own
If a person wants to bring a cross thats, great, a purple heart that's fine. If they want to bring a picture of thier fallen love one thats even better. What am trying to say is that we grieve together lets embrace our diversity for once. Bring your miniora and whatever else you'd like or not too.
Let's show this monkey faced butcher that he's hurting every american of every non religion, religion, creed, color and nationality with his damnable war for oil.

11. I think
whoever is at a Bush event protesting should hold maybe a picture or something of a person who died in the war if you don't want a cross and on the cross have their name on it. Never give him a moment of rest!

16. Yes - Hell yes!
The symbols of those that died should follow him around wherever he goes.

Because I really don't think he worries himself about those things, and he needs to be constantly reminded.

These crosses are just symbols or buried soldiers.
Forget the religious aspect. These aren't the real tombstones.
It's just symbolic.

Infact, we should be mailing him pictures of those handmade crosses weekly.

Remind him of the price of this war!

20. A sign with a soldier's face and the words...
"I have to go on with my life," -G.W. Bush would be more portable and more effective. He should be confronted with their faces and their names and his own words everywhere he turns.

That way, chimpyboy can see, first hand, the actual numbers of troops he's killed with his war! Sometimes I think (no MOST of the time) he lives in a vacuum!

Schools, libraries, businesses, etc. Talk about a constant and respectful visual reminder of the horrors of this war.
