Confession: I Had Never Heard of the BTK Killer Before This Year
Maybe because I was in college back in the 70s and didn't have a TV, but I swear, I had never heard of this guy. The Unibomber, yes. BTK, no.

Is that weird or what?

1. Most likely
Because his actions ceased for a 10 year span. And it was in the MidWest, not the hotbed for exciting news that the two coasts provide.

2. Not weird.
At any given time there are 200 active serial killers in the US, according to what I've read. Seems unlikely that you'd be aware of them all.

7. Besides, we didn't have 24/7 Murderer of the Week coverage
on the news back then. That was a time when reporters covered real news and left that kind of coverage to the tabloids.

5. You're not the only one.
When they were close to catching this BTK killer, and I kept seeing BTK on tv, I kept thinking of burger king or something.

8. Me neither
I thought a BTK was something I might order with fries and a Coke.
