In a bizarre exchange at the end of the segment last night, Liddy attacked Arianna Huffington becasue of her Greek heritage on the Paula Zahn Show. The spot was a discussion about whether the President should meet with Cindy Sheehan or not. Liddy who always manages to offend people didn't disappoint his followers.

He did serve real time, as opposed to most of the Watergate convicts. Most of them went to cushy prisons, whereas he went to a real one.

The problem with Liddy is that he truly believes the crap spewed out by the character he played on a couple of episodes of "Miami Vice". He played Sonny's former commander from Vietnam who smuggled tons of heroin out in body bags, and unleashed it on the streets 20 years later. On an episode the next year, the same character was involved in an Iran/Contra situation, and the memorable scene involves him throwing a necklace made of human ears on the table in front of all of his prospective partners in the venture.

Lots of Nazis served in the German military, too, but I doubt that that would genuinely entitle those Nazis to pretend they are "more German" than any other citizen of Germany. Quite the opposite, in fact.

There have been a few psychos who have served in the American military, just like any other country's military. Liddy is proof of that. American ideals are what they are in spite of the "contribution" of those few bad apple "soldiers" like Liddy, not because of them.
