Should all candidate threads go to Politics and Campaigns?
First off, thank you mandyky for bringing up this great idea!

Rather than ban certain candidate threads from GDF, couldn't we just relegate them to their own forum? This would probably help keep the threads down to manageable size as well, rather than having every single member of DU enter the fray to say, in effect, "I know your candidate is, but what is mine?" ;-)

Thoughts?

1. YES!!!!
It seems obvious to me that threads about the candidates are about campaigns as in Politics and Campaigns.

It think this change would get more people to go to that category and that would be good.

Also, I think that when I just wanted to check on a GENERAL discussion, it would be easier to find the subjects that interest me.

2. I agree
Very logical proposition. Candidate (bashing) threads overwhelm GD, where there are threads discussing issues, such as Whistleass, that are not quite breaking news.

Put them in the campaign forum. That is their logical fit, since they are all about campaign fighting anyways.

3. That doesn't mean I think the rules should not apply to
those posts though. We have got to stop tearing down Dem candidates, and it looks like it is going to take rules to force people to stop it.

4. Yes......I think Skinner got some folks agreeing with that on his "New
Rules" thread about putting Candidate posts into the Politics Forum.

6. Good idea?
Hell yeah... I brought it up a week ago. This being the first Presidential campaign DU will live through, it behooves us to set controls on how it is discussed here. Moving Campaign and Candidate discussions to their own forum makes perfect sense. I dare say it will be easier on the Mods, too boot.

Do I hear a round of applause for our Mods? I thought so...
