Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 11:29 PM by bvar22
Lake St Bridge in Minneapolis St Paul, one of more than 20 Cindy Support Rallys in the Twin Cities! Estimates of over 1000.

Great Energy on the Bridge!
I LOVE my PEOPLE!

16. Saint Paul REPRESENTED last night in a big way
We grabbed a couple neighbors on the way down. And then we ran into more people we knew once things got going. I stood next to a guy who works at the Ford Plant, never been to a protest before, but he's finally had enough of the lies. He was yelling his lungs out and having a great time.

I wish we had some video to show all of the cars passing over the bridge who were honking, waving, flashing peace signs out the window.

10. There were 737 Registered attendees.
Many brought guests.
I was NOT registered and I suspect many weren't.
It was difficult to estimate the size of the crowd. The hump in the middle of the bridge prevented seeing everyone at the same time.
The local Media said over 1000, and I tend to agree.

This was one of over 20 separate Cindy Vigils in the Twin City Area (again, according to local Media).

The Twin Cities is very blue. I only saw one car flip us the bird, and everyone was laughing at him.

18. Not only was the crowd on the bridge great
but the people driving by were fantastic as well. The bridge had a lot of traffic and there were lots and lots of honks. There were more than a few drivers that went back and forth across the bridge a few times, honking their support as they went. The entire time I was there, I only saw two drivers give us a thumbs-down. From a local news report:

"At the Lake Street/Marshall Avenue bridge, cars honked continuously Wednesday night, as they drove past hundreds of people who came to stand symbolically by Cindy Sheehan."

An AP article had the attendance at about 1000 which seems to agree with what others have estimated. Awesome!
