10. The Following Generals Were Invaded and Were Occupiers
General Patton, Bradley, MacAurthur just to think up the three most famous generals.

You forget; there were, and are, many “Democrats”, who are in favor of this war.
Unless they are voted out and replaced with people who REALLY follow the Democratic way the War will never really be considered illegal.

For instance, how many times did John Kerry speak against and call for Saddam Hussein’s removal from power? If I had the time I'd list them.
And so many people here wonder why so many people voted against him and for the Bush Leaguer.

Another "I told you so" from a Dean supporter.

3. Hermann Goering
German head of the Luftwaffe (German Air Force) WWII. Convicted at Nuremburg. Poisoned himself before his death sentence was carried out.

Adolf Eichmann was convicted in Jerusalem. I'm not sure what the actual charges were, but the crimes of these men were essentially war crimes. There were many others especially at Nuremburg.

Rudolf Hess was convicted of war crimes, but sentenced only to life. He served his sentence in Berlin I believe.

4. Definitions
A war crime is a punishable offense, under international (criminal) law, for violations of the law of war by any person or persons, military or civilian. Every violation of the law of war in an inter-state conflict is a war crime, while violations in internal conflicts don't necessarily amount to war crimes.

War crimes include violations of established protections of the laws of war, but also include failures to adhere to norms of procedure and rules of battle, such as attacking those displaying a flag of truce, or using that same flag as a ruse of war to mount an attack.

It comprises such acts as mistreatment of prisoners of war or civilians. War crimes are sometimes part of instances of mass murder and genocide though these crimes are more broadly covered under international humanitarian law described as crimes against humanity.

War crimes are significant in international humanitarian law because it is an area where international tribunals such as the Nuremberg Trials have been convened. Recent examples are the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, which were established by the UN Security Council acting under Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

On July 1, 2002 the International Criminal Court, a treaty based court located in The Hague, came into being for the prosecution of war crimes committed on or after that date. However, several nations, most notably the United States, China, and Israel, have criticized the court, refused to participate in it or permit the court to have jurisdiction over their citizens.

To date, the former heads of state and heads of government that have been charged with war crimes include Karl Dnitz of Germany, ex Prime Minister Hideki Tojo of Japan and former Liberian President Charles Taylor. Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is currently on trial accused of committing War Crimes as is former Yugoslav President Slobodan Miloevi.

11. Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention
Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

Rumsfailed admitted in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also proscecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.
