I am tired of the people around me trivializing everything I do.
"Enough already, my god can't you Democrats do anything else but complain."
"All y'all want to do is bitch, how about actually doing something for a change? That's all y'all do is bash Bush, but you never offer alternatives."
"If it wasn't for people like George Bush, we'd all be speaking German right now."
"You people are emboldening the enemy."
I get the feeling I am putting forth a very lame effort, because this is what I get - no respect for my views, instead I am belittled and told to go pout in the corner. Maybe I DO need to shut the F up. I am doing the best I can do, but getting nowhere.
I've HAD IT.
(Thanks for letting me vent)

They're like their hero...they don't like criticism. They want all of us to be good little sheep and support that disgusting creature in the White House.
Well, FUCK THAT. I'm 49 years old, and I thought I'd seen the worst in this country when Nixon was President. I thought I'd seen the worst in this country when Reagan was President. But, those two were a picnic in the park...yes, Ronald Fucking Reagan...compared to what we're saddled with right now.
It is your DUTY as a good Democrat to speak out. Don't let them silence you...or us. These are times when America needs all the voices it can get...to speak out against this immoral war and this immoral President and his administration.
Don't shut up, SunDrop23. We need you.

Lately it just feels like I can't fight them off.
The insults that have been hurled at Cindy Sheehan have me at the boiling point. Knowing many of these fuckheads would have the same response or worse, regardless of their adolation of Bush. I have heard how insignificant she is, yet EVERY DAMN ONE OF THEM has her at the TOP of their list of talking points...why the need to discredit someone who is supposedly insignificant.
I'm blue in a red state and the small community I live in is unbelievably red.
I'm going to take my kids to the lake this afternoon and have a picnic. Maybe that will clear my head and get me back on track.

Rosa Parks was insignificant. How about Susan B. Anthony. How about Helen Keller. Tell them they are the insignificant ones and not good enough, or brave enough to shine Cindy's shoes.

Plus they want you to get angry and upset. They are the Bush bullies. Playing follow the leader. The only thing that will turn any of them around is an empty wallet. As the economy gets worse they will have less to donate to their churches ect.Save yourself some grief and cut them out of your life. They do not matter. If you want a reaction just tell them you do not want them in your life because they are Repugs. That really floors them.

If you are getting commenst especially from loved ones to the tune of "shut up already about that stuff," it may mean that you've become an boor and have let politics takeover too much of your life.
My wife had to slap me down about five years ago and tell me she just didn't want to hear about it anymore.
All I was doing was complaining to her all day about Newt Gingrich and Henry Hyde, and it became too big a part of my life and she told me so.
I'm more careful now.
And most of the things I was so put off by back then, I probably couldn't even say what they were today.
Keep some perspective, which is not easy.

I've reached my saturation point also. As much as I would hate to see it, I wish the economy would just crash already and the draft would be reinstated.
Sheeple are going to have to find out the hard way, and I'm getting really tired of waiting for this nightmare to end.
I know people will get hurt, but I'm sorry.

...and no, don't shut up and sit in the corner and pout. You're getting the standard response of the neo cons and Bush worshippers. The haven't got the capacity to form an independant thought - all they can do is belittle and parrot the same crap their president says. Nothing they say has substance. So don't take it personally when they belittle you - just know that they can't help themselves and don't know any better.

About that argument.... FDR was as far from Bush as you'll find. Bush has emulated the behavior of the Nazis, as he has invaded countries for no reason (Poland), been belligerent and suppressive towards opposing political movements, trampled upon innocents and has made a mockery of human rights (did I forget anything).
Even if Germany did invade America, the language wouldn't change, just ask the French, they were conquered by Germany twice. What an ignorant argument.

...but sometimes you have to get up in someone's face and let them know what a cowardly piece of filth they are.
Trust me, the loudest Freeper-types are the biggest cowards. When you blast them they always back down and grumble as they walk away.
Try it with your local College Republicans some time. Get in their faces and demand to know why they haven't enlisted. And when they give you some lame excuse, call them a fucking coward.
Right to their face.

No, if Prescott Bush had his way we might be speaking German. It was Bush's family that was doing business with the Nazi regime.
Emboldening the enemy? I'm sure "bring 'em on" did a great job of that. "In their last throes" probably emboldened a few. You know what I think REALLY emboldened the "enemy"? Seeing their family members blown to small pieces by US bombs. Then again, what do I know?

"Enough already, my god can't you Democrats do anything else but complain." -- Right back atcha! Can't you Republicans do anything but complain about Democrats?
"All y'all want to do is bitch, how about actually doing something for a change? That's all y'all do is bash Bush, but you never offer alternatives." -- All y'all do is demonize Democrats and incessantly rant. Once again, you're NOT LISTENING! I have to SHOUT because you NEVER LISTEN! If you LISTENED, you would actually HEAR ALTERNATIVES.
"If it wasn't for people like George Bush, we'd all be speaking German right now." -- True! Although a majority of Germans also speak English. Just think how well we would communicate with the rest of the world if we were schooled in more languages!
"You people are emboldening the enemy." -- In reality, the divide to conquer strategy of the administration replete with statements such as this do much more to 'embolden' the enemy that anything 'we people' have ever done. Bring It On!
