Molly Ivins coming up next on Wolf's show.
On CNN. (And after she's off, I am turning off the TV, I swear...)

2. she's not on yet
but I'd guess that most of what she's going to say can be summed up thusly: "George W. Bush is an idiot." :)

5. I do that too
"And after she's off, I am turning off the TV, I swear"

I'll be damned if they think they're getting ratings from me. The instant crossfire is finished I'm gone.

6. talking about the recall
Molly doesn't trust the polls except maybe the Field poll, doesn't think that Ariana dropping out (if she does) will make much difference.

7. the Republican on the show just tried to call Plume an analyst
Wolfie is saying she was anything but an analyst. She may be one now, but she used to be an operative.

8. Rich Galen is on, too.
Parroting the RW talking points--Plame wasn't an operative. Wolf quoting Novak's article that said she was an operative, they've checked and she may be an analyst now but she was an operative.

Molly doubts CIA would have referred to DOJ if she wasn't an operative, doesn't trust Ashcroft to investigate this, he should recuse himself along with all other political appointees if DOJ is going to handle this.

11. Right-
"...we don't know when she was an operative...was she an operative 25 years ago?" (would it matter now is she was, asshole?) "...Wilson has a personal agenda...his ability to process information is suspect...(no uranium?)" Oh, now it's different issue? Wolf sez we didn't find any WMD, repub head sez, "The Brits are still standing by it." Oh, well, hellz bellz, it MUST be true! And that is the reason for all this and the reason for the leak-Wilson was right, they were wrong. Hence, Wilson must be a scumbag.

9. Molly doesn't trust DOJ to investigate.
Says Ashcroft and all of the political appointees would have to recuse themselves and such an investigation wouldn't be sufficient.

10. Repub keeps trying to sell the line
that we don't know what Plame's role was and whether a crime was committed.

Emailer says this is "politics of personal destruction at it's worst." Molly says she's seen worse.

Repub says Wilson has an agenda. (Well, duh, his wife's life could be in jeopardy). Wolf says that he has been proved right on the uranium story. Wolf is not letting this guy get away with anything.

15. So they're claiming that nothing was done wrong?
Okay, then, let them tell us who gave Novak the info, since it wasn't harmful or against the law to do so.:eyes:

And by the way, I wish these people would get their stories straight. Novak says no one called him, that he got the info in an interview. (At least that what he's saying today. At the time, he said it was "given" to him.) The Repugs say that Plame wasn't an operative, implying that the release of her identity was no big deal.

Bush* says (through spokesperson) that he doesn't know who did it, because he hasn't asked, but it absolutely wasn't Karl Rove.

Uh-huh.

17. And Bush knows that-HOW?
That's the point that I don't get, and the point that the press was trying to make. How does he know that no one in the WH did it if he didn't even ask?

12. Molly says
"a lot of people are getting screwed" in GWB's America.

Repub says *'s falling approval ratings are normal for president's third year.

Molly says what is important is what is happening to regular people and that they make the connection between their lives and *'s policies.

And now it's over.

14. She's on her book tour now. Check local listings!
Seriously, I wanted to remind loyal DU-ers that Molly Ivins will be traveling to promote "Bushwhacked." One of my co-workers told me Molly I.'s going to be at Politics and Prose on Connecticut Avenue NW in the District of Columbia tonight. I'm tempted to go...

By the way, if you've ever met her, you know what a warm, sassy person she is. Whatever she does tonight ought to be entertaining.
