Did anyone else hear the "Able Danger" Lt. Colonel on NPR TOTN?
He was on "Talk of the Nation" yesterday (audio is available on-line at the links below).

Then they had 9/11 Commission Chairman Thomas Kean on, who basically said he had never received this information from his staff. :wtf:

He and the guy that followed him practical call Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer a lier. Maybe the LIHOP people have a smoking Gun here? Note: I'm not a big fan of TOTN, because the Host is too easily manipulated by RW activist opinion.

If you missed it, you can here it at the link below:

'Able Danger' and Coordinating Pre-Sept. 11 Intelligence

Listen to this story... (34:48)

Talk of the Nation, August 17, 2005 · An Army intelligence officer, Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, says his unit, known as "Able Danger," identified four future Sept. 11 hijackers as al Qaeda members in the United States -- well before the 2001 attacks. He says the 9/11 Commission did not thoroughly investigate this data.

Guests:

Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer, oversaw the Army's "Able Danger" intelligence unit

Thomas Kean, chairman of the 9/11 Commission; former Republican governor of New Jersey

Harry "Skip" Brandon, former deputy assistant director in charge of counterterrorism and national security at the FBI; retired in 1993 after 23 years with the FBI; founding partner of Smith Brandon International, a defense and security consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch

1. I heard that.--and I also made note of the lack of

responsiveness from the left side of the aisle regarding the true history of building of the "the wall." At a more disturbing level, I think that they are actually using this as a Trojan horse to try to push data mining onto the public.

2. Sounds like it's too late for that, I bet they have already re-started
the "data mining" programs already.

Do you know much about "data mining?" What is it, Really?

It's sounds like a LOT of guess work and "tin foil hat" type work to me.

3.  "Able Danger": Warmed over soup in a RW effort to misdirect blame for
9/11. Have you noticed how Clinton's name is popping up more and more in connection with this?

Hillary's 2008 presidential run could be the ultimate target of Able Danger's revival.

4. Yes, and the Jerk from "Judicial Watch" was almost...
...foaming at the mouth, at the prospect. I don't trust them at all.

But I wonder if this more of a Long term plan to blame Clinton (because of the "withholding of info from the 9/11 Comm.")

5. Could be. The thing is the Pentago has folks screaming about 9-11.
It's important -- no matter who was in the Oval Office -- that the Truth come out. We may be seeing the rank-and-file choosing sides. Unlike the BFEE, most who are in the service -- like you and most who have served, oasis -- truly believe in upholding, defending and protecting the Constitution of the United States.

Thank God.
