Will the Pentagon assert itself? |

Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 01:57 PM by LuckyTheDog
After Iraq, one has to wonder if the Pentagon will ever again be as completely compliant to civilian control as they traditionally have been.
After having been misused so badly, will they adopt a "reinterpreted" idea of their constitutional role and assert more control over when and where they will be deployed? Just a thought.
They are a big, powerful, well-financed organization. And their service to the country has been misused. Should they ever decide they can't trust their civilian overlords, we'll have a real problem.
