24. That's just plan daft.
Where on Earth did you come up with the idea that multimillionaires and their children are going to depend on Social Security? That just doesn't make sense at all. The whole Bush family has used it's political connections to make itself rich so they won't be depending upon SSI for much of anything.

26. My take was it was a wee bit of ironic sarcasm
and appreciated, at least by me. What is life with out a mild chuckle now and then.

29. SHE SAID IT
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 04:34 PM by LisaM
She said she has an interest in Social Security's solvency because of her 17 grandchildren. She said it about a week ago.

Edited to add the quote. I guess she said it in March.

Barbara Bush, 79, joined her son for his swing through Florida, providing a reassuring presence to endorse the president's promise that any changes to Social Security would not affect people 55 or older. The former first lady told an audience in Pensacola that she worries about the future of Social Security not for herself but for her 17 grandchildren. "We want to know, is someone going to do something about it?" she said.

2. It sounds likely...I think they should go...all of them, in fact, let's
send all of the Bushes to Iraq to fight without special privilege or special armor.

4. Not that I know of...
I heard it on RR, as well.

Why WOULD they enlist? They're all filthy rich and raised without the sense of public service (unless there's $$$ to be made).

5. "Her" people don't join the military.
And, besides, why should they have to worry their "beautiful minds" about a war?

7. heres' some info
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_political_family

just noticed "John Prescott Ellis, son of Nancy Bush Ellis, first cousin of George W. Bush and media consultant, who was a consultant for Fox News during the 2000 Presidential Election."

I'm curious why everyone keeps refering to Barbara Bush instead of George H.W.

25. Because Cindy Sheehan is a mother- that's why we are talking about mothers
and grandmothers who have children in harms way.

as in none of the Bush mothers.

9. "as" or "has"? You may want to edit your post title!
In the * family, only Bar's husband, George H.W. Bush, served on active duty as far as I know. We all know that George W. Bu$h never completed his service with the TANG. :( George P. Bu$h (Jeb's son) spends his time terrozing old girlfriends and his poor sister, Noel, has a terrible addiction to painkillers. (Very sad :()

Correction, the USO, she used to do a mean impersonation of J.Edgar Hoover.

23. Why would the military want ANY of them?
Poppy jumped out of a plane with his men still on board and georgie blew off his orders to blow coke and get shit-faced drunk.
I am guessing that none of the other bush freaks would be any more courageous than those two assholes.
