Have the Downing Street Minutes fallen completely down the memory hole? |
|
I have not heard any mention of them lately at all in the regular "media" (and not much on the progressive blogs either)...however I've been somewhat occupied - is there anything going on with these? :eyes:

and I'm sure it will get some air in its lungs as the Sept. 24-26 protest weekend approaches. There's a John Conyers-sponsored DSM forum at the University of Michigan-Flint next Tuesday. It will come back.

Republicans are getting their butts kicked by all the war protest, and that's a story that really needs to come out.
The Downing Street Minutes will be back when indictments are handed out to Karl Rove and others.
More importantly, this and other evidence will see the light of day if we can manage to win back at least the Senate next year. Congressional oversight of the Bush administration has been supressed, but that will change if we win the Senate. I'm starting to get my hopes up that we will. Who knows? Maybe the House, too!

6. the usual media blackout |

A protest is as good as Aruba. If Cindy brings it up they'll rehash Natalee Halloway.
I wonder what Natalee Halloway's parents think of all this. I'll bet they're pissed off about getting exploited for this bullcrap.

7. You betcha. The Repubs play us like fiddles. |
|
They bounce each scandal off our radar by creating a new one and giving us hope that it will really be the one. Hell, this goes back to before Bush was appointed, when they were bouncing cocaine convictions with desertion and desertion with DUIs, and DUIs with stolen elections.
DSM was bounced by Plame was bounced by Cindy Sheehan, who will be bounced by something. Then for those who are more negative minded, they bounce out the old "John Kerry betrayed us, Hillary betrayed us, the DLC is the boogeyman," and on and on.
They are very good.

impossible to find a warm body who has the faintest notion of what's in the DSM. They recognize Cindy's name but about the only connection they can make is something like "Oh, that crazy woman down there pestering the president..." :grr:

10. Sheehan mentions the DSM all the time. |
|
It's not down the memory hole. It is only sitting at the side, waiting patiently for the rest of the Iraq issue to catch up. When the Rove affair comes to a head along with the other issues, the DSM will substantiate the crimes of the * crime family.
