Has anyone noticed that registrations to this site... |
|
seem to be increasing by several hundred each week lately?

1. And some are even people who are here to do more than troll. It's great |
|
that we have so many new folk rolling in and looking to see how they can help save this country!

3. Yes, and judging from the posts, they are overwhelmingly legit DUers as |
|
well. This is a good thing.

|
I have it on good authority that he carries around extra DU bumper stickers and uses them for recruiting purposes.

Basketballs, you know, those who come here to see how many times they can get bounced?

7. I made a prediction a few months ago |
|
that there would soon be born again Democrats. (as in "I swear I've always been a liberal dem, I wasn't posting venom on Freerepublic last year") I believe there is a component of that. When winter comes the grasshopper extols the virtues of the ants.

11. Well, if the current has shifted |
|
that's good enough for now. A few years ago the lemmings were lining up to follow Bush toward the brink, if they are now lining up behind someone headed in the opposite direction then, the person they're following needs to move as fast as possible before they change their minds again.

8. As a newbie I am getting the urge |
|
to get a DU coffee mug, t shirt and baseball cap (my bumper sticker is on the way). This is as close as I come to hobbling a mile on bloody knees to the cross.

Your higher power surely doesn't need your bloody knees.
No need to "Skinner" your knees.

12. A friend couldn't open my email of DU article cause he wasn't registered. |
|
on DU. He just told me that yesterday. I'm talking about my emailing him a link to a DU thread. Is that correct? If that's the case, a lot of people are registering just to open a single email and may or may not be sticking around.

who is new here is a newbie Democrat, or certainly not an ex-Republican looking to "fit in with the newly liberal mood of the country" (God, I wish that that were true.)
Like a lot of folks I basically made working on the Kerry campaign my full-time job last year. After that, I was a wee burnt out, but I learned about DU from some folks I met during the campaign. So I registered a while back.
I think that could be it--a lot of folks still energized from the campaign who got sucked into this whole politics on the Internet thing that the kids are into have finally gotten around to registering on DU.

and told them about DU. Many had never heard of it and were happy to have the info. I am so into DU that it surprises me when people don't know about it.
