And FWIW, those horses are Percherons. They are a breed of draft horse and are extremely calm, gentle and BIG - at least the ones I've known and loved.

But they do seem intimidating and uneccessary at a peace protest :shrug:

5. They were huge horses
The cops were nice, very helpful in fact. We walked from Washington Park to the reflecting pool at Empire Plaza and they stopped traffic for us and otherwise just left us alone.
