DUers. We have several members who have loved ones in Iraq. |
|
It is important for us to know who they are so we can truly be supportive of them. They are going through a range of emotions, most of which center upon the unknown & fear.
A simple question asked by, let's say--me, is an entirely different ballgame if that same question is asked by a DUer who has a loved one in harm's way.
Please. Let's take it upon ourselves to know which DUers have loved ones in Iraq. I confess. I know that there are at least 7 DUer's, but I can only attach 2 names to that group.
I cannot begin to imagine the emotions that are running through these people. Please. Let's make it our business to know & be understanding.

I don't believe in the military, but do feel for the people whose lives are most directly affected by this war. I wish them the best.

I don't know whether I have any traceable relatives presently in Iraq or Afghanistan, (although I probably do), but certainly some of the children of my close friends are presently there now. Another friend has been there previously but has now returned.

You don't have to be pro-military to be loving & supportive of Duers who are going through hell right now.
You are a beautiful person. :toast:

6. Well I think we should adopt the platoons |
|
of those DUers troops.
Another grass roots movement. Send them care packages, letters, let them know DU cares about their LIVES more than this idiotic war.
Soon word will spread amongst the troops that dems really *do* support the troops, the real actual troops, regardless of our support of the policy.

7. That is good, but I am not talking about politicizing this |
|
I really meant for us to be more aware of the DUers, and what they are going through. The best way to serve their loved ones over-seas is to take care of mom & dad here at home--although I am all for sending big packages of love to our DUers loved ones. Politics can fall by the curb.
